| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, De Beers Group began a global implementation of SAP S/4 HANA as part of a multiple release program. The SAP S/4 HANA program is focused on ERP Financial capabilities to centralize core finance processes and standardize financial management across the enterprise.
The program involves migration from a mix of enterprise systems, explicitly including SAP ERP ECC 6.0, SAP JP1, SAP PRD, and regional non SAP systems such as Office Automate and Tally. The migration work spans multiple releases and requires the integration of a large interface architecture to reconcile transactional flows and master data across source systems.
Configuration work aligns with core ERP Financial workflows, including general ledger harmonization, accounts payable and accounts receivable process standardization, asset accounting configuration, and period end financial close and reporting orchestration. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation includes change enablement roles and process redesign typical for finance transformation, with governance contours for release sequencing and functional cutover.
Operational coverage and governance are explicitly global, with change management activity managed across Europe, APAC, and the Americas and a Business Change Manager contract active from December 2021 to present. The program is described as complicated, driven by multiple source systems and a substantial interface architecture, which concentrates risk and requires phased rollout and strict release governance.

| Benefex, a Zellis Company | Legacy | Benefex OneHub | Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, De Beers Group implemented Benefex OneHub | Benefits as its Benefits Administration platform. The deployment supported the Consumer and Brands reward function with operational ownership in the UK and coverage extending to employees in the UK, US, Belgium, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
Benefex OneHub | Benefits was configured to manage core employee benefits including private medical insurance PMI, personal health insurance PHI, life assurance, pension administration and a portfolio of flexible benefits. The implementation included an employee facing online benefits portal to handle annual enrolment windows and ongoing benefit elections, along with administrative workflows for schemes such as SIP, LTIP, DBA and SAYE.
Integration activity reflected the platform acting as the primary portal tied to third party scheme administrators, with Equiniti named for SIP, LTIP, DBA and SAYE scheme administration. The Reward Manager role documented collaboration with external compensation consultants Mercer and Willis Towers Watson for benchmarking and job evaluation, indicating processes for market data ingestion and compensation governance that interface with benefits decisioning.
Governance and operating processes emphasized supplier relationship management, yearly benefit presentations and on site benefit fairs for enrolment, and the coordination of benefit rules across regions. The Reward Manager also managed international assignments including cost projections and build up calculations, embedding the Benefits Administration platform into mobility and reward workflows across the specified geographies.

| Tracr | Legacy | TracrTM | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, De Beers Group deployed TracrTM, the TracrTM Blockchain Platform, to provide provenance assurance across its diamond production from source to Sightholder to store. The deployment is positioned as a scale release that enables immutable source assurance for 100% of De Beers Group’s diamonds, and the company had already registered one quarter of its production by value on TracrTM across the first three Sights ahead of the scale rollout. The program covers De Beers operations and commercial flows originating in Botswana, Canada, Namibia and South Africa and extends through Sightholders and retail store supply chains. This implementation centers on end to end provenance across the diamond value chain and on broad industry participation by Sightholders and retailers.
The TracrTM implementation is built on a distributed ledger architecture that provisions a decentralised instance for each participant, ensuring that participants control access to and sharing of their own data. Functional capabilities deployed include immutable transaction recording for tamper proof provenance, access control and privacy controls that limit data disclosure to participant permissions, and an intuitive user experience designed to simplify onboarding and operational use. The platform is described as combining blockchain transaction processing with advanced security and privacy technologies, and it is engineered to support registration throughput at scale with the ability to register up to one million diamonds per week. TracrTM also incorporates data enrichment modalities consistent with provenance platforms, using artificial intelligence and Internet of Things data streams to support identification and journey tracking.
Operational coverage emphasizes the value chain from mine site to Sightholder to retail store, with Sights serving as key commercial events for registration and validation. The platform model avoids centralized bottlenecks by distributing processing and data custody across participants, which supports scalability and rapid transaction throughput. Each participant maintains a distributed version of the platform so data sharing requires explicit permission, reinforcing governance at the data owner level while enabling cross participant provenance trails.
Governance and independent assurance are integral to the rollout, TracrTM provenance claims have been certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council and De Beers’ Pipeline Integrity programme remains in place with annual third party verification visits by independent auditors. The deployment is explicitly positioned to underpin consumer confidence by providing immutable provenance information and to enable Sightholders and retailers to verify origin at scale.
