SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2022
In 2019 Deutsche Telekom United States began Project One.ERP and started migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA. The deployment is focused on the ERP Financial category and aims to establish One.ERP as a consolidated company-wide platform to standardize planning and logistics for accelerated 5G network and fiber optic expansion. Deutsche Telekom configured SAP S/4 HANA to unify core functional modules across finance, human resources, purchasing, technology and key account business, using the SAP S/4 HANA application to enable unified data models, advanced data analysis, artificial intelligence support and forward-looking planning. Functional workflows are being mapped end to end from ordering through warehouse logistics to delivery to eliminate system breaks and support faster customer fulfillment. The program consolidates eleven of the companys 55 ERP systems in the initial phase, simplifying the application footprint and consolidating transactional and master data on the S/4 Hana platform. Deployment architecture leverages the group relationship with SAP and the subsidiary T-Systems, with T-Systems operating large scale SAP cloud hosting and offering private, public, hybrid and multi-cloud SAP cloud options, including connectors to T-Systems IoT data stores and to SAP cloud services. Project governance was initiated under Berthold Wesseler as Project One.ERP and has been championed by Peter Leukert in his role as Head of IT, with an end-to-end rollout approach that targets standardized business processes and centralized data governance. Deutsche Telekom explicitly expects faster logistics and a reduction in IT operating costs based on S/4 Hana adoption, citing an average IT operations cost reduction figure reported in project communications.
