| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | BE-terna | 2021 | 2021 | In 2021 Elero, a Nice Group Company, advanced a multi-year ERP program to deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations with BE-terna as implementation partner. The engagement began in November 2020 and was executed as a pilot ERP project within the Nice Group with a planned go live in March 2022. The decision followed recognition that prior processes had been mapped in Infor/AS and that the installed solution had become heavily customized and no longer met operational needs. Elero implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to provide a standardized ERP Financial platform capable of mapping quoting, production planning, and delivery processes. The implementation emphasized Finance and Supply Chain capabilities, including an integrated configurator to support product configuration and an extension package delivered by BE-terna where standard configuration reached limits. The project used standard Dynamics 365 modules to harmonize the process landscape and reduce bespoke process variants. Deployment architecture moved the company toward a cloud based Dynamics 365 environment to reduce IT burden for feature and update management and to enable continuous function expansion. The rollout was structured as two location specific deployments, one in Schlierbach for high volume automated production and one in Pößneck for made to order production, with the configurator enabling both production methods within the same ERP Financial platform. Elero opted not to migrate to the Nice Group's Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 environment and instead adopted the current cloud release to serve as a future facing standard. Governance centered on harmonizing processes across the organisation to streamline operations and support increased group complexity, with BE-terna executing custom extensions only when the standard solution required augmentation. The move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is explicitly positioned to lighten IT workload and save time and resources, a benefit cited by the Head of IT, and the CEO framed cloud adoption as essential for future growth. As a pilot within the Nice Group the project establishes an architectural and process blueprint for potential broader adoption. |
