The assessment covered standard SAP FICO workstreams, including Financial Accounting modules General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, and Financial Closing, together with Controlling components such as Cost Center Accounting, Profitability Analysis, and Internal Orders. Configuration activity focused on chart of accounts design, company code setup, fiscal year variant and tax configuration, and master data governance for vendors, customers and fixed assets.
On the architecture side the technical assessment reviewed application and database tier considerations for SAP ERP ECC 6.0, integration middleware and interface patterns, and operational requirements for batch processing and period close orchestration. The Zalaris integration was used to synchronize employee master data and payroll-related attributes, and Zalaris ensured standardisation and improvement of employee master data quality as part of the Workday and Zalaris SAP payroll management connection, with key integration activity noted on 01.10.2021.
Governance and operational coverage were oriented around HR and payroll functions, with the integration driving standardized data governance between HR records in Workday HCM and payroll processing in the Zalaris SAP payroll management environment. The combined implementation emphasized master data quality controls and cross-functional workflows between HR and payroll to reduce administrative friction and improve data consistency.

The implementation used Intalio Nyxeia BPM to orchestrate upgrade workflows, automate SMS offer generation, and embed decision logic for premium class upgrade eligibility. Functional capabilities implemented included process orchestration, workflow automation, and business rules configuration to trigger offers based on availability and passenger loyalty status.
Integrations tied the BPM orchestration layer to loyalty systems and departure control systems to read passenger status and current seat inventory, and to persist upgrade confirmations back into operational systems. ITC Infotech executed the integration work and collaborated with Finnair commercial and IT teams to align BPM process flows with CRM and revenue management operational rules.
The rollout shifted upgrade execution to automated SMS workflows, delivering faster upgrades and improved seat utilization and enabling Finnair to realize ROI quickly within its Finland and Europe operating footprint. Intalio Nyxeia BPM served as the orchestration hub for CRM driven revenue management use cases at the airline.
