In 2019 Fortive migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA in a large scale ERP Financial program. The implementation targeted SAP S/4 HANA 1709 as a global implementation with a reported budget above $60 million, a 63 country go live footprint and support for more than 2,000 users in the context of an ASP merger acquisition effort.
The deployment covered core Order to Cash, Operations and Financial modules, plus MDG Master Data Governance for centralized master data control. The program structure included functional leads, MDG leads, solution architects, technical leads and senior business users to configure finance ledgers, OTC order processes, operational master data workflows and MDG governance capabilities within SAP S/4 HANA.
Project orchestration was delivered through a combined Accenture and client resource model, with Accenture project managers, testing leads and cut over leads coordinated alongside client business leads and an organizational change management lead. Delivery and task tracking used MS Project plan, Visual Project Manager and JIRA with Excel exports to manage schedules and issue resolution across the multi country rollout.
Program governance emphasized recovery of behind schedule work streams and validation control, the SAP Program Manager chaired daily status calls to drive delinquent tasks back on schedule, managed drafting and signature workflows for validation documentation, re prioritized workloads against critical path milestones and developed visible metrics and score cards displayed in the team room for executive oversight. The Fortive SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial program centralized governance and testing disciplines to support the global cut over and master data consolidation effort.

In 2015, Fortive implemented Microsoft Power BI in an Analytics and BI engagement to support procurement analytics and monthly scorecard reporting. Neal Analytics and Tiny Lizard built out the Premier Procurement Department Enterprise Data Warehouse and analytic solution from ground zero, establishing a new reporting back-end architecture and dashboard layer.
The implementation delivered an Enterprise Data Warehouse, an SSAS Tabular cube for analytical modeling, and Power BI dashboards as the primary visualization layer. The monthly SSRS based Excel scorecard was upgraded to a dynamic solution sourced from the SSAS Tabular model, enabling self-service metric exploration and automated scorecard refresh workflows.
The deployment integrated the EDW, SSAS Tabular, SSRS scorecard outputs, Excel consumption patterns, and Power BI dashboards into a unified reporting pipeline for procurement. Operational coverage focused on the Premier Procurement Department, aligning procurement reporting, analytics, and metric inquiry workflows under a single data model and visualization stack.
As stated by the implementation team, the new back-end and reporting stack replaced a prior Microsoft Access based reporting process, reducing scorecard generation times from days to a couple of hours, and shrinking scorecard metric inquiry resolution from several days to minutes. Governance centered on a single tabular semantic layer and centralized EDW feeds to standardize metrics and accelerate research for procurement stakeholders.
