In 2014 London Gatwick Airport implemented IBS iAirport in the Airport Management category to strengthen collaborative decision making and operational throughput, focusing on ACDM tools to maximise capacity while reducing emissions and operating costs. London Gatwick Airport used the IBS iAirport solution to align airport operations and the Aeronautical Operations Control Centre AOCC with partner stakeholders.
The IBS iAirport deployment included intelligent alerting, DPI message processing and flight monitoring modules that provided continuous status updates and exception detection across turnaround workflows. Functionality was configured to support collaborative decision making, resource sequencing and operational visibility for ground handling, airline operations and tower coordination. The full application name IBS iAirport is used throughout operational consoles and monitoring dashboards to centralise ACDM information.
Operational coverage was focused on the United Kingdom airport site and the AOCC, consolidating DPI messages and flight status into a central operational picture. Integrations were implemented at the message processing layer to ingest DPI formatted messages and propagate alerts to the AOCC, enabling coordinated responses across airport partners.
Governance and rollout emphasized partner alignment and procedural integration of ACDM workflows into day to day operations, with operational governance steering use of the IBS iAirport toolset. The deployment delivered faster turnarounds and improved resource visibility and supported the stated goals of reducing emissions and operating costs.
