In 2013 Glenmark Pharmaceuticals implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support ERP Financial functions. The engagement began on 1 July 2013 and included a five month onsite period focused on implementation, data migration and rollout for a new site and ongoing support activities.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment covered functional modules including Materials Management, Quality Management, Production Planning and Financials, along with SAP Open Text for document management and SAP Solution Manager for application lifecycle support. Core configuration work centered on master data creation and uploads, specifically inspection plans, certificates of analysis, master recipes, process orders and BOMs, material and vendor masters, and resource records. User acceptance testing was executed across integrated modules, with operational qualification and performance qualification runs documented as OQ and PQ for QM, MM, PP and FI.
Operational coverage included go live support and training for end-users, troubleshooting of module-level issues, and administration of the internal communication portal used by project teams. The team prepared Standard Operating Procedures derived from Glenmark procurement processes and rolled out customer-specific customizing requirements. Roll mapping in the quality notification system was implemented to align QM workflows with end-user reporting and corrective action processes.
Governance was enforced via a master data cell, SAP super user support, and coordinated communication between functional and technical consultants during UAT and post go live support.
