In 2022, Grupo LALA migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA Cloud as part of a RISE with SAP initiative, an implementation positioned under the ERP Financial category. The decision followed an exhaustive RFP process driven by a requirement for a platform to support growth across new dairy categories and cross border operations in Mexico, the United States, Central America and Brazil.
The SAP S/4HANA Cloud deployment focused on core financial management and tightly integrated operational capabilities spanning finance, human resources, production, distribution and logistics. Configuration and modular scope emphasized unified financial accounting and controlling capabilities, integrated master data for production and distribution planning, and process alignment to support end to end order to cash and procure to pay workflows.
Grupo LALA selected AWS to host both its RISE with SAP environment and its non SAP environments, beginning with an initial rollout in Brazil. The architecture emphasizes cloud hosting on AWS with secure, real time connectivity between the SAP S/4HANA Cloud core and surrounding non SAP systems to support transactional flow across 31 plants and 173 distribution centers, and to maintain integrated operational data across functions.
Governance centered on a phased RISE footprint expansion across the SAP landscape, with rollout orchestration driven by regional operational needs and an enterprise requirement to support both SAP and non SAP solutions. As a next step Grupo LALA will increase RISE adoption and explore AWS native machine learning, artificial intelligence and analytics services to extract deeper insights from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud environment.
