In 2022 Gulfstream implemented SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial. The engagement executed a conversion path from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA, focusing on consolidating core finance and controlling capabilities into an S/4 HANA Finance footprint.
The implementation scope centered on SAP S/4 HANA Finance and CO components, with configuration of New General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Banking, Taxes, and Treasury. Controlling workstreams covered Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Project Costing, Profit Centers, and Profitability Analysis including both account based COPA and costing based COPA, plus Product Costing COPA and Internal Order Management.
Integration work explicitly encompassed FI/CO synchronization with Project System, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, and Materials Management, and banking integration for cash management and payments. The technical and usability layer included Fiori Apps, Fiori Launchpad and Launchpad Designer configuration, and CDS views and enhancements, while knowledge of BPC and Blackline was noted as preferred and ABAP debugging was listed as an advantage for close collaboration with the technical team.
Governance and operational ownership rested with a core ERP Technology team led by a SAP FICO analyst who was responsible for designing, building, deploying and maintaining the FICO solution. The deployment was anchored in the Savannah, GA HR operations where HR coordinators and background specialists used Clearstar ESR Check to manage candidate workflows and support staffing and onboarding activities.
Configuration focused on standard BackGround Screening capabilities, including candidate tracking, background results intake, audit trails, secure handling of sensitive personnel information, and query generation for HR reporting. Gulfstream staff used Clearstar ESR Check to collect and compile confidential personnel data, maintain high levels of data integrity, and to review and audit screening information prior to HR actions.
Operational integration was executed between Clearstar ESR Check and Gulfstream HR systems, with explicit support for PeopleSoft and Talent Navigator to enable review, input, and auditing of employee actions such as promotions, transfers, hires, and terminations. The implementation workflow involved working closely with ClearStar to obtain accurate screening results and to ensure those results were available to authorized HR users for staffing decisions and regulatory checks.
Governance and process changes emphasized consistent application of corporate HR policies, strict confidentiality controls, and compliance with OFCCP related hiring processes. Daily operating procedures included generating and distributing data queries, tracking candidate status and actions taken, furnishing information to authorized persons and agencies, and coordinating new hire orientation and training logistics through integrated HR workflows.

The deployment focused on core materials management capabilities and was positioned to support material planning, master schedule performance measurement, MRP execution, work order release planning, dispatch, purchasing, inventory planning, production control, shipping and receiving, stockroom operations, and import export procedural compliance.
Continuum CORRIDOR Aviation Foundation was configured to enforce transaction controls and accurate paperwork processing, and to operationalize material disbursement and storage handling rules. Functional configuration emphasized shop floor work order release, material issue and return transactions, and inventory visibility to ensure the right components are delivered to aircraft build stations on schedule.
The implementation integrated with adjacent enterprise systems listed in Gulfstream operational notes, including Cognos for reporting and analytics, CAS for operational support, CATIA and Smart Team for engineering and data exchange. Operational coverage included materials management, purchasing, production control, shipping, receiving, and stockroom teams, with personnel and team leadership practices aligned to system transactions and master schedule accountability in Savannah, Georgia.
Governance changes included tightened controls to ensure all paperwork and system transactions were completed accurately and timely, establishment of priorities for subordinate teams to support efficient operations, and use of the Aviation ERP to drive cross functional coordination. Process improvement emphasis was placed on collaboration between materials, production and engineering groups to maintain component flow and adherence to procedural compliance.
