SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Intesa Sanpaolo implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a broader SAP SuccessFactors suite deployment. The bank deployed SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals, SAP SuccessFactors Compensation, SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development and SAP Jam to drive HR transformation. Intesa Sanpaolo is the largest banking group in Italy, with over 96,000 employees and approximately 4,700 branches, so the initiative targeted enterprise wide HR and talent processes. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured to operate within the SAP SuccessFactors suite, leveraging Employee Central as the system of record for worker profiles and Performance & Goals to feed merit and incentive cycles. The Compensation Management implementation included configurable merit planning, variable pay budgeting, compensation worksheets and approval workflows consistent with enterprise compensation programs. Succession & Development supported talent calibration and long term reward planning, while SAP Jam provided employee engagement and collaboration during compensation cycles. Architecturally the rollout used the cloud delivered SAP SuccessFactors suite to unify HR master data, performance results and compensation decisions across the organization. Operational coverage included central HR, people managers and business unit leaders across Intesa Sanpaolo branches, aligning compensation planning with performance assessments. Integrations were internal to the SuccessFactors modules to maintain a single data model for compensation administration and talent processes. Governance changes emphasized centralized compensation policy enforcement and manager led planning, with process controls embedded into SAP SuccessFactors Compensation workflows and approval chains. Intesa Sanpaolo expected simpler, faster, business driven HR, reduced costs and decreased administration to provide more time for value adding tasks, while using SAP Jam to engage employees in the process.
