In 2013, Knight Foundation implemented Fluxx Grantmaker to run its grants management and to launch a grantee portal that gives applicants and current grantees direct access to proposals, documents, and submission workflows. The Fluxx Grantmaker deployment focused on Grant Management functions and went live to support grant operations in the United States.
The implementation configured core grants management modules including proposal intake, document management, and submission workflow orchestration to centralize application processing and records. The grantee portal provided role based access for applicants and grantees, enabling direct uploads, status visibility, and threaded communication between program staff and external recipients.
Operational coverage included program teams and grant operations across the United States, with program staff using the platform to coordinate reviews and manage ongoing grantee interactions. Governance changes emphasized transparent document sharing and standardized submission processes to improve communication workflows between internal stakeholders and external grantees.
The project enabled more interactive collaboration between program staff and grantees and improved transparency and communications through self service access to proposals and documents. The implementation of Fluxx Grantmaker positioned Knight Foundation to manage grant lifecycles and applicant engagement within a single Grant Management platform.
