In 2025, Kia Corporation implemented SAP S/4 HANA through SAP's RISE with SAP program to centralize and modernize its finance platform. The project is positioned as an ERP Financial deployment, aligning core accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting capabilities under a single SAP S/4 HANA instance.
The implementation concentrated on standard ERP Financial modules, including General Ledger and Universal Journal configuration, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable workflows, Asset Accounting, Treasury and cash management, intercompany accounting and consolidation, and financial planning and analysis capabilities. Configuration emphasized real time ledger posting, automated period close sequencing, tax and statutory reporting support, and template-driven chart of accounts harmonization to support multi-GAAP reporting.
Integrations were scoped to connect finance master data and transactional flows with procurement, order to cash, manufacturing and dealer operations, and external banking interfaces for payments and treasury operations, following typical ERP Financial integration patterns. Operational coverage targeted corporate finance and controllership functions with a template intended for staged rollout across business units and finance centers within the organization.
Governance focused on centralized finance master data management, role based access control within SAP S/4 HANA, and redesigned month end close and financial approval workflows to reduce manual reconciliations. The deployment used SAP S/4 HANA standard financial controls and template governance to enable consistent policy enforcement and ongoing application lifecycle updates under the RISE with SAP engagement.

Operational coverage centered on HR, payroll, and talent management teams, with SAP HCM (HR) handling transactional HR, time evaluation, and payroll posting while SuccessFactors supported performance and goal cycles. The design emphasized alignment between organizational structures in PA/OM and talent profiles to ensure consistent employee records and workflow continuity between core HR and talent modules.
Governance relied on SAP ERP HCM subject matter expertise in PA/OM, Time Management, and Payroll to drive configuration decisions and process standardization. Controls focused on role based authorizations, organizational unit governance, and standardized HR process flows to support employee lifecycle management and recurring performance review cycles.
