| Oracle | IBM AS/400 | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Les Schwab Tire Centers implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial backbone, converting transactional finance and billing processes from an IBM AS/400 to a cloud-based NetSuite environment. The Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment was scoped to support accounting, payroll, sales and use tax, audit processes, GAAP financial close and operational reporting for a privately-owned tire retailer with 430 locations operating across eight Western states.
Configuration centered on high-volume accounts payable and receivable workflows, including the conversion of payables and billings for headquarters and retail sites. Functional modules and capabilities implemented included accounts payable processing for 60,000 plus invoices per month, billing and re-billing workflows to support 485 tire centers, inventory accounting for warehouse and distribution centers, and centralized financial reporting and audit controls.
The program was managed alongside Workday HCM implemented in 2017, with coordinated requirements and design activities to align payroll and HR data for financial reporting and payroll accounting processes. Deloitte developers participated in prototyping, design, testing, training, implementation and stabilization efforts, and the cloud architecture shifted transactional processing off the IBM AS/400 to a SaaS model consistent with ERP Financial operations.
Governance and rollout were led by the finance business lead reporting to the CFO, who directed requirements gathering, initial prototyping, testing, training and post-go live stabilization while managing a finance organization of 60 accounting professionals and a high-volume accounts payable team of 12 specialists. The finance organization continued to recruit and develop supervisors, streamline processes and leverage the new Oracle NetSuite ERP platform while sustaining seven plus years of revenue growth for the business.
