In 2017, Ls Electric implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial solution, deploying the in-memory S/4 HANA 1610 release on the Amazon Web Services Korea cloud environment. The deployment was constructed with LS Global engineering personnel and is noted as the first implementation in Korea to run S/4 HANA 1610 on the AWS Cloud, establishing a cloud-first SAP architecture for LS Group affiliates including Ls Electric.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation centered on core financial management capabilities typical of ERP Financial systems, including general ledger processing, accounts payable and receivable workflows, fixed asset accounting, and accelerated financial close capabilities. Configuration emphasized in-memory transaction processing and standard S/4 financial ledgers to improve transactional throughput and real-time financial reporting, while aligning master data and chart of accounts for group consistency.
Operational integration layered SAP S/4 HANA on AWS infrastructure, using the AWS Cloud for compute and storage to host the HANA database and application stack. The project aligned with LS Global cloud services that support LS Group and external customers, enabling future business linking between the AWS Cloud and SAP S/4 HANA ERP and supporting cross-functional processes across finance, procurement, and accounting.
Governance and run operations were assigned to LS Global engineering teams, with an operational charter to support corporate productivity improvement and digital transformation through ongoing operation of SAP S/4 HANA. The implementation positioned Ls Electric SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial for centralized cloud operations and future customer-facing cloud ERP offerings from LS Global.
