| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Mantas AML | AML, Fraud and Compliance | TRM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 | In 2016, Maybank deployed Oracle Mantas AML to strengthen enterprise monitoring within its AML, Fraud and Compliance environment. The deployment targeted the bank's financial crime compliance and investigation teams in Malaysia, focusing on transaction surveillance and watchlist screening workflows. Oracle Mantas AML was configured to operate as a centralized detection engine, using rules based transaction monitoring, behavioral analytics, watchlist matching and alert scoring. The implementation included centralized case management to manage investigator workflows, case creation, evidence attachment and audit trails. Configuration emphasized configurable detection scenarios, threshold tuning and alert prioritization to align with local regulatory requirements. Integrations included Fico SironKyc/CDD for KYC and customer due diligence enrichment, plus feeds from core transaction processing systems and customer master data to support entity resolution and contextual alerting. | IBM | Legacy | IBM MQ API | API Management | PaaS | n/a | 2018 | 2018 | In 2018 Maybank implemented IBM MQ API as a core component of its API Management strategy. The deployment was aligned with the bank's IBM product domain and governed by an Assistant Vice President who served as Domain Architect for IBM products between Oct 2017 and Sep 2020, covering IIB, MQ, DP, and API Management responsibilities. IBM MQ API was configured to provide API gateway and policy enforcement capabilities, including authentication and authorization controls, request and response mediation, and API lifecycle management for internal service surfaces. Configuration work emphasized protocol mediation and message bridging to expose message-oriented middleware as RESTful APIs, and the implementation included monitoring and logging features typical of API Management platforms to support operational visibility. The implementation integrated with the IBM Integration Bus IIB, the IBM MQ messaging backbone, and DP components named in the domain architecture, creating an interface layer between queuing infrastructure and API consumers. Operational scope focused on the bank's integration domain and developer teams responsible for service exposure, with API Management serving as the control plane for message exchange and service orchestration within that landscape. Governance and rollout were driven by the domain architect role, which established API versioning, policy templates, and deployment processes for promotion from development to production. The program emphasized centralized API governance, standardized security policies, and operational handover to platform operations to maintain consistent management of IBM MQ API within Maybank's API Management environment. | |
