| Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics AX | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2020 | 2021 |
In 2020 Moneris upgraded Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform. The initiative was coordinated from corporate finance in Toronto, leveraging a finance organization of roughly 70 staff with a senior accountant acting as project department lead and coordinating a cross functional team of seven to ten.
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations deployment centered on core financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll posting, monthly accruals and period close controls, together with configuration for custom reporting and automation of file manipulations. Implementation activities documented in the program included scenario gathering, user acceptance testing, reporting issue diagnosis and resolution, configuration documentation, and coaching and training for the finance operations staff.
Integrations and adjacent system work were explicit components of the rollout, with finance providing requirements and automations for HRs move from Ultipro to Workday and reviewing Workday deliverables for downstream financial reporting. The finance team also supported an SAP Concur conversion for employee travel and expense claims with integration into Dynamics, and the Dynamics 365 implementation supported finance tasks tied to the sale and transition of the giftcertificates.ca division to Givex during pre sale, cutover and post sale activities.
Governance adjustments were instituted to formalize UAT procedures, reporting standards and configuration controls, and the rollout emphasized process documentation and coaching to transfer operational ownership. After go live corporate finance retained responsibility for payroll entries, remittances, GL, AR and AP operations, month end and year end close coordination and ongoing interactions with FP&A, corporate reporting, taxation and treasury.

| Workday | UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2021 |
In 2020 Moneris migrated from UKG Pro HCM ex UltiPro HCM to Workday HCM, adopting Workday as the cloud Core HR system to consolidate employee master data and payroll-related recordkeeping. The implementation was driven by cross-functional finance and HR requirements, with corporate HR and payroll processes scoped for centralization and standardized reporting across Moneris Solutions Corporation in Toronto and supporting corporate finance workflows.
Workday HCM was configured to support core HR master data, payroll processing inputs, and HR reporting, with emphasis on automated file manipulations and validation of outbound HR data feeds. Configuration work included mapping finance reporting requirements into Workday report definitions and extract formats, review and correction of Workday files, and establishment of payroll input routines to support corporate payroll entries and monthly accruals.
The program included explicit integrations and data handoffs to finance systems, reflecting prior projects where MS Dynamics AX was upgraded to D365 Finance and Operations and SAP Concur was implemented for travel and expense claims. Integration patterns centered on structured file feeds and reconciled journal entry generation, with Workday HCM providing the HR source extracts consumed by payroll accounting and the D365 finance environment, and coordination with Concur for employee expense workflows.
Governance and rollout followed a cross-functional project model, with scenario gathering, user acceptance testing, process documentation, and training led in part by finance subject matter experts. Finance ownership covered review of Workday deliverables, ongoing feedback to HR configuration, automation of file manipulation routines, and training and post-implementation support to align month end and payroll close activities with the new Core HR platform.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2011 | 2018 |
In 2011, Moneris implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as its Analytics and BI platform to centralize reporting and business intelligence for various departments and external banking partners. The deployment emphasized SQL Server Reporting Services for formatted delivery and integrated SSAS and SSIS components to support data modeling and ETL workflows, positioning Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as the primary Analytics and BI application for corporate reporting needs.
The implementation encompassed development, enhancement and maintenance of report delivery channels including a self service reporting environment, corporate dashboards and a direct database access environment for BI power users. Functional workstreams included creation and support of simple to complex dashboard reports using WebFocus and SSRS, scheduling of reports through Report Caster, monitoring of daily and monthly data loads, and construction of launch pages and user interface screens using HTML Layout Painter.
Operational coverage extended to internal departments across Moneris and external delivery to Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal, with a support model handling approximately 25 to 30 ad hoc report requests per month. Responsibilities included full user support and administration for all BI tools and applications, ongoing monitoring and operational maintenance of report schedules, and routinized ETL oversight via SSIS to sustain data availability for reporting.
Governance activities focused on research, analysis and recommending solutions to improve internal BI processes, procedures and applications, and on migration work to consolidate reporting assets by moving WebFocus reports into SSRS. The narrative documents Moneris Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) Analytics and BI alignment with business reporting functions, emphasizing support, operationalization and incremental modernization of the report portfolio.
