The deployment anchored a newly established pricing team charged with daily calculation, analysis and verification of prices across NISA’s fixed income security universe, including corporate, taxable and tax exempt issues, mortgage backed pass-throughs, collateralized mortgage obligations and asset backed bonds.
FINCAD Analytics served as the primary analytics and modeling engine to forecast underlying cash flows and model complex instruments, configured to derive pricing from swap, Eurodollar and Treasury curves using E, I, N, Z and discount margin pricing spreads, incorporating linear interpolation and parallel curve shifts. The implementation included automated pricing pipelines, daily data integrity checks, and SQL stored procedures and reports designed to identify, analyze and resolve pricing issues while producing daily price files and monthly pricing reports.
Operational integrations centered on SQL based data stores and reporting workflows, with the pricing function coordinating closely with trading personnel, the Performance group and senior management. Governance was formalized through a monthly Pricing Committee reporting cadence, and processes incorporated scenario analysis and stress testing to inform process enhancements and system upgrades.
Day to day workstreams included preparing and analyzing daily and monthly pricing reports, monitoring vendor fees and service level agreements, conducting ad hoc studies for senior management, and maintaining the FINCAD Analytics configuration that centralizes valuation, analytics and pricing governance within operations and portfolio reporting.
