In 2017 NuVasive implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize core financial and operational processes, deploying the application as its ERP Financial platform. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation was positioned to support enterprise financials while aligning with broader Order to Cash and supply chain initiatives.
The deployment included development of custom loaner business applications within SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support order fulfillment and shipment workflows, and configuration to support plant and manufacturing setups. The project delivered custom real time shop floor analytics for manufacturing decision support and included plant-specific configuration for the Dayton, OH facility.
Integrations and adjacent systems explicitly addressed during the rollout included a SaaS solution with FedEx integration to reduce shipping loss and improve customer experience, plus procurement process work through SAP Ariba. The program also aligned with Camstar MES implementation and Salesforce Field Service CRM governance, and supported migration of the Netherlands site onto the companys global SAP ERP instance to consolidate operations.
Governance and operational ownership rested with the Enterprise Applications organization, which defined SAP ECC standards, service delivery, and vendor management while collaborating with the COO on business and technology strategy. Implementation activities focused on standardizing business processes for Order to Cash, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse and Distribution value streams globally, and on embedding SAP ERP ECC 6.0 into enterprise application governance and reporting workflows.

Configuration work included enabling the Aura Framework, adding Aura Attributes and Aura Handlers for Events to focus on logic and interactions in Lightning Applications and Field Service Lightning. Implementation scope aligned with typical Field Service Management capabilities, including work order orchestration, scheduling and dispatch, mobile technician access to job details, and in-app interaction handling through event-driven Lightning components.
Operational coverage targeted field service teams and service delivery processes, with the application instrumented to surface task and schedule data in the Lightning UI for technicians and dispatchers. Development governance was adjusted to prioritize event-driven Lightning component patterns, introducing standards for Aura event handling and attribute design to streamline application logic and UI interactions across Field Service Lightning components.
