Emburse Legacy Emburse Enterprise Expense Management ERP n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt implemented Emburse Enterprise for Expense Management. The implementation was scoped to centralize employee expense submission and audit workflows across the firm’s finance operations and to enforce consistent coding and tax capture prior to payable processing. Emburse Enterprise was configured to manage expense itemization, receipt imaging, tax code validation, charge coding and multi-stage approval workflows. Automated audit rules and exception handling were implemented to flag insufficient submissions and to route items back to submitters for additional information, with approval queues enforcing required coding and tax fields before release to accounts payable. The Expense Management deployment operated alongside Aderant for Accounts Payable, client disbursements, cash receipts and trust accounting, aligning expense-to-payable handoffs with existing Aderant processes. Expense audit, approve and reject activities were aligned with Chrome River workflows where those actions were performed, creating a coordinated operational landscape between Emburse Enterprise, Chrome River and Aderant. Governance was structured to ensure consistent compliance with corporate policies, embedding approval thresholds, tax validation and coding standards into Emburse Enterprise. Operational ownership remained with the finance and accounts payable functions to ensure timely processing and to pursue adequate information for insufficient submissions.
