Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2020
In 2019 Phoenix Group implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform. The Oracle Cloud ERP rollout formed the backbone of an accounting and actuarial IFRS 17 transformation programme that also incorporated Oracle EPM, Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications OFSAA and Fusion Analytics Warehouse. The implementation focused on core finance modules and configuration, including Accounts Receivable, Collections, Fixed Assets, General Ledger and broader Finance Systems. Workstreams included preparation of a process taxonomy, a process catalogue and detailed process maps to define end to end finance workflows and controls, and the engagement produced standard operating procedures and a delivery plan for training materials and knowledge transfer to end users. Integration and operational coverage were scoped to leverage Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service and Oracle Integration Cloud for master data and interface orchestration. The programme included planning for user acceptance testing, reviewing test scenarios and test cases, creating an organized UAT schedule, arranging UAT testers, scheduling interfaces, maintaining the testing tool Silk Central, managing defects and developing a traceability matrix linking functional requirements to test scenarios. Governance and control work streams delivered a quality assurance review of standard operating procedures, a review of Oracle Cloud role based access controls and seeded job roles to assess fit gap against business requirements. Consultants advised on solution key design decisions, prepared change requests and developed an internal financial controls framework, while knowledge transfer and procedural rollout supported new processes and ways of working in the finance and actuarial functions in Edinburgh and across the Phoenix Group finance organization.

Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM IBM 2019 2019
In 2019 Phoenix Group initiated a project to implement Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as part of a harmonisation program across Standard Life and Phoenix Group employee populations, targeting Absence and Leave Management capabilities. The program is described as a move to a harmonised HCM Cloud solution and specifically names Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as the application delivering absence schemes and related leave administration. The implementation work focused on building harmonised and heritage absence schemes, plus harmonised allowances and deductions to feed payroll. Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management was configured to support scheme level definitions, entitlement logic and allowance and deduction mappings that align with payroll inputs, while preserving heritage scheme rules where required for specific employee cohorts. Integrations were implemented to connect absence data flows into the Oracle HCM Payroll Interface, enabling absence entitlements and deductions to be consumed by payroll processing. The project documentation notes source data and workforce transitions from Oracle E Business Suite and SAP respectively into the unified HCM Cloud design, and the implementation accounted for dual heritage data models during cutover and reconciliation phases. IBM served as the implementation lead for payroll and absence, contracted as Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll and Absence Lead from Oct 2019 to Sep 2020 and operating from Edinburgh, Scotland. Governance activities emphasized harmonisation of absence policy, payroll interface configuration and scheme cutover planning across the two legacy employee cohorts, with IBM responsible for design leadership and operational rollout coordination.

Tableau Software Legacy Tableau Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Phoenix Group implemented Tableau as its Analytics and BI platform to support customer insight and Test & Learn experimentation. The deployment focused on analytical Tableau solutions to deliver channel engagement and targeting analysis, including product holdings, segmentation and demographic profiling. Configuration work emphasized interactive dashboards, visual analytics, data blending and calculated measures to enable experiment level analysis and cohort profiling. Tableau was used to operationalize Test & Learn frameworks, embedding parameter driven visualizations and storyboards for pre and post experiment comparison and variant analysis. Work included ensuring appropriate data is sourced, manipulated and stitched together to support analytic workflows. Integrations were coordinated across internal data sources and with Proposition, Marketing and Customer Operations teams as well as third party suppliers to assemble customer, channel and product holding data. The implementation supported analysts and customer facing teams in Edinburgh, Scotland, with outputs consumed by proposition and marketing decision workflows. Tableau was the primary application for self service reporting and investigator led experimentation. Governance centered on embedding experiment design controls, data sourcing standards and sign off processes to ensure analytic outputs could shape and influence customer facing solutions. The deployment positioned Tableau to centralize visual analytics for segmentation, targeting and channel engagement use cases.
