| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2011 | 2012 |
In 2011 Quimica Amparo implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to address growing data volumes and sluggish analytical reporting across multiple business lines. The deployment targeted acceleration of report access and insight generation for finance and operational monitoring, driven by pressures on the existing SAP Business Suite and SAP HANA workloads running across x86 infrastructure.
The implementation consolidated SAP Business Suite and SAP HANA applications onto two IBM Power System E880 servers, virtualized with IBM PowerVM and running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications. This architecture built on an existing pair of IBM PowerSystem E870 servers and centralized SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and related Business Suite components on the IBM Power platform, enabling dynamic activation of additional processors and reducing the count of physical machines.
Operational coverage focused on finance and cross‑business performance monitoring, with the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment supporting analytical reporting across Quimica Amparo s business lines and feeding distribution and supply chain functions. The company signaled future plans to extend SAP functionality with SAP Warehouse Management at its washing powder plant, and to evaluate IBM Watson for demand prediction using SAP data, social media and market reports.
Implementation governance included partner-led delivery, with Net Place preparing hardware, executing the cutover, running tests and bringing systems into production, while Ingram Micro Brasil supplied hardware and software to meet project timelines. The cutover to the Power System E880 environment was completed with only 48 hours of downtime over a weekend, and contractual coverage included maintenance and services. Quimica Amparo reported fewer physical machines, lower energy costs, pay for needed capacity through processor activation, and a lower five year total cost of ownership for Power servers compared to the x86 model.

In 2023 Quimica Amparo implemented Gupy Climate and Engagement to transition from annual engagement surveys to a continuous listening program, enabling HR and leaders in Brazil to act on near real time engagement data. Quimica Amparo used Gupy Climate and Engagement as an Employee Engagement application to centralize recurring pulse measurements and leader level reporting across the organization.
The deployment emphasized continuous listening and real time dashboards, with configured pulse surveys, eNPS measurement and analytics workflows to surface engagement signals to people managers and HR business partners. Configuration focused on periodic pulse cadence, role based reporting and automated delivery of engagement metrics for local leadership review, reflecting standard Employee Engagement capabilities for listening, measurement and actionable insights.
Operational coverage targeted HR and leadership forums across Brazil, with the program embedded into leadership meetings and the company performance cycle to ensure cadence for action planning and follow up. The implementation did not list technical system integrations in the case, instead prioritizing operational adoption by people managers and HR teams to close feedback loops and track improvements.
Governance was organized around the Clima e Engajamento program, with engagement metrics incorporated into leadership forums and performance cycles to drive accountability and recurring review. The case reports program level outcomes including approximately 87 percent engagement and an e NPS of approximately 64, outcomes that were used as part of ongoing leadership reporting and employee engagement governance.
