| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, QVC implemented SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial to consolidate the retailer's core finance and accounting capabilities on a single SAP S/4 HANA instance. The deployment explicitly targeted enterprise financial management and reporting, establishing SAP S/4 HANA as the primary system of record for accounting, close orchestration, and statutory reporting within QVC's finance organization.
The implementation concentrated on SAP S/4 HANA finance capabilities, including Financial Accounting FI and Controlling CO, general ledger design, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, and period end close processes. Configuration emphasized harmonized chart of accounts, ledger and posting structures, multicurrency accounting support, and tax and statutory reporting frameworks consistent with ERP Financial functional requirements.
Operationally the program was led by an SAP Finance lead beginning in September 2019, with rollout scope focused on corporate finance and accounting teams across QVC. Governance around finance process ownership, centralized financial master data, and change control for the financial close was instituted to align operational workflows with the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial core.

In 2017 QVC implemented Sterling Background Check as its BackGround Screening application to support hiring, onboarding, and pre-employment screening workflows across site-level staffing teams. The deployment was centered on operational use by People and Org coordinators and staffing office support specialists who maintained the new hire database and coordinated candidate processing activities.
Sterling Background Check was configured to capture and record background information, support pre-employment testing coordination, log candidate status changes including rescinds, and maintain orientation rosters and attendance records. Functional usage included importing applicant records, assigning interview slots, and entering screening results and related candidate data into Sterling Background Check.
Integration points were explicit in operational practice, with coordinators entering screening details into Sterling Background Check and interfacing with QVC systems such as Workday and the Team Member Services portal for payroll document scanning and escalation. Staff monitored multiple internal databases in parallel with Sterling Background Check to reconcile hiring data, and the application operated within the HR and Talent Acquisition workflow for U.S. site hiring.
Governance and process controls emphasized tight partnership with Talent Acquisition, routine monitoring of candidate pipelines, and defined escalation paths for payroll and Workday issues. Day-to-day operations included facilitation of new hire orientation, delivery of ethics and compliance training content tied to onboarding, and coordination of wellbeing and site-level initiatives from within the Sterling Background Check driven hiring process.
