| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2012 | 2013 |
In 2012 ratiopharm implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial backbone, executing a multinational rollout into Czech Republic, United Kingdom, United States and Israel. The initiative centered on standardization of the vendor maintenance process and building one Global Vendor Template, with SAP MDG VM and an MM Global tool embedded as core master data governance components. The MDM Roadmap and Strategy served as a reference point within the project blueprint phase to align global master data objectives with the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment.
Configuration focused on vendor master governance and cross-track business partner alignment, establishing a single business partner and contact point across FI/CO, O2C, P2P and QM SAP project tracks. Functional capabilities implemented included global vendor template creation, vendor and intercompany customer data facilitation, and end-to-end master data lifecycle controls such as nomenclature, authorizations and documented procedures. Responsibility for global master data management processes was defined for the owned domain, covering standards, guidelines and the respective operational documentation.
The deployment operated across cross-functional and cross-systems landscapes, with the SAP MDG VM and MM Global tool integrated as central governance layers to support P2P and vendor processes. The program provided input and support for related initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, a Serialization project and subsequent ERP SAP rollout projects, and it supported test script creation and user acceptance testing activities. Ownership included IC customers and IC vendors data facilitation and ongoing data maintenance for live and future SAP ECC countries.
Governance and operationalization emphasized controls and quality, with the program providing input for KPI and SLA creation and reviewing established control functions. The team acted as business partner in identifying and implementing SOX and internal controls for vendor and P2P processes, identifying gaps between systems and processes and driving remediation. Global master data daily operations and quality were led by a direct line manager accountable for ensuring global master data tasks were handled efficiently, at high quality and in compliance with established processes and guidelines.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft 365 | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 ratiopharm began using Microsoft 365 as a core Collaboration platform, a deployment that is referenced on the company website and positioned for corporate collaboration and productivity. The implementation is aligned with ratiopharm as a Life Sciences organization with approximately 5,500 employees, indicating an enterprise tenant footprint rather than a point tool.
Microsoft 365 is deployed to provide standard Collaboration capabilities, including email and calendaring, team chat and meetings, cloud document libraries, and personal file synchronization. The deployment leverages Microsoft 365 components such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive to enable document management, real time collaboration, and centralized content sharing across knowledge workers.
Operational coverage is centered on corporate collaboration and document lifecycle management, with Microsoft 365 supporting functions such as internal communications, knowledge management, and corporate productivity. The presence of Microsoft 365 on ratiopharm’s website signals a tenant level deployment intended for broad internal use rather than a narrow, customer facing widget.
Governance for a Microsoft 365 implementation in a regulated Life Sciences setting typically includes tenant administration, identity and access controls, data governance policies, and compliance configuration, and these governance layers are relevant to ratiopharm’s Collaboration deployment. ratiopharm Microsoft 365 Collaboration therefore functions as the core collaboration and document management platform for corporate business functions while requiring standard governance and operational controls appropriate to the industry.

Governance was organized around signature verification, retention policies and web workflow orchestration, with coordination across web development and compliance teams. Process changes emphasize standardized signing procedures and centralized handling of executed documents using DocuSign eSignature as the canonical signing mechanism for web initiated agreements.
