The project provisioned interfaces to statutory reporting and tax workflows to align operational reporting with the new S/4 data model.
Rollout followed a condensed six month timeline from April 2019 to September 2019 with phased module cutovers and finance process standardization. Governance activities included finance process redesign, control harmonization, and adoption of S/4 HANA financial workflows for intercompany accounting and consolidated reporting.

In 2018, Sanlam implemented SAP ERP HCM Offboarding as part of a broader SAP SuccessFactors HXM suite deployment. The initiative formed one element of a multi-year transformation that delivered core HR, payroll, talent, learning and employee experience capabilities across the enterprise.
The SAP ERP HCM Offboarding capability was configured to support formal exit workflows and survey touchpoints, with module-level offboarding usage inferred from the SuccessFactors HXM implementation. Functional configuration focused on standard offboarding checkpoints, user role gating for HR and line managers, and linkage to talent and learning records to ensure knowledge transfer and certification status were visible during exit processing.
Qualtrics was explicitly integrated to capture moments that matter including onboarding and offboarding, providing survey orchestration triggered from the SuccessFactors offboarding flow. Effective People served as the implementation partner for the program, coordinating the SAP SuccessFactors HXM deployment and the Qualtrics integration to align survey triggers with HR workflow states.
Operational scope encompassed enterprise HR and talent management functions within Sanlam, with a phased rollout aligned to HXM module delivery. Governance was managed through the multi-year program structure, embedding standardized offboarding workflows and change control for cross-module dependencies between core HR, payroll, talent and learning systems.
