In 2014, Santander UK implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as part of an ERP Financial initiative to upgrade payments processing and core finance workflows. The project targeted payments capabilities within Sage Business Cloud Payments with objectives of improving efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity.
Workstreams documented current AS IS finance processes used by different stakeholders using Microsoft Visio, and produced a Requirement Catalogue alongside detailed use case diagrams to support functional requirements. The team executed a business impact assessment and performed gap analysis on version compatibility to define configuration needs and identify functional adjustments required for the new payments solution.
Requirements were baselined through facilitated walkthrough sessions involving a Solutions Architect, the Head of Change, and finance representatives to obtain formal sign-off and to set acceptance criteria for payments workflows. Configuration and validation efforts focused on finance business functions including payments processing, reconciliation workflows, and stakeholder approval flows across the finance organization.
Santander UK supported User Acceptance Testing for the new solution, produced Release Notes, and used the documented use cases to validate functional behavior and guide rollout sequencing. The implementation positions Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as the ERP Financial application handling payments and related finance process orchestration across the organization.
