In 2016 Schaeffler implemented Tradeshift Pay to extend its AP Automation capabilities and further digitize accounts payable workflows. Stefan Bauerreis, CFO Europe, had overseen several years of work to digitize invoice entry using an OCR scanning solution, which he described as a successful first step but one that left additional automation opportunities open.
The Tradeshift Pay deployment focused on automating invoice handling beyond optical character recognition, leveraging AP Automation functionality such as electronic invoice capture and validation, workflow routing and approvals, supplier collaboration interfaces, and payment orchestration. Configuration emphasized end to end invoice flow, exception handling and automated routing to finance approvers, aligning the Tradeshift Pay application with established AP processing terminology and controls.
Operational scope concentrated on the accounts payable and finance organization, with governance changes to standardize invoice processing and embed automated workflows under CFO oversight. The implementation extended prior digitization efforts into a platform centric AP Automation posture, enabling more automated, policy driven invoice lifecycle management within Schaeffler's finance function.

In 2019 Schaeffler implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits to centralize benefits configuration and enrollment within its HR application landscape. The deployment targeted the Benefits Administration function and was executed with a focus on HR and payroll processes in the DACH regions, while retaining alignment to broader global HR requirements for a large international manufacturing company.
Implementation work included consulting, conception, planning, implementation and project management of IT projects in the human resources environment, reflecting a modular approach to Benefits Administration such as benefits plan configuration, eligibility and enrollment workflows, event-driven lifecycle management, and benefit data model alignment with Employee Central. The project scope explicitly incorporated analysis and evaluation of related HR solutions including SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Benefit capabilities to ensure consistent data models and governance across compensation and benefits workloads.
Architecturally the implementation emphasized integration with existing SAP HR Payroll capabilities and HR master data sources, enabling synchronous benefit eligibility and payroll deduction posting. Delivery relied on cooperation with HR business partners and internal and external IT specialists for process analysis and solution design, with defined strategies for implementation, staged rollout and operations management in a complex international environment.

In 2013, Schaeffler implemented SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) to centralize warehouse operations and advance its Warehouse Management capabilities. The deployment was led by an in-house IT specialist who owned SAP EWM configuration, testing and operational support.
Configuration work focused on core SAP EWM functional modules common to manufacturing supply chains, including inbound and outbound processing, inventory management, putaway and picking strategies, warehouse task and resource management, and storage type control. Process orchestration and warehouse task automation were configured to support goods receipt and shipment workflows, reflecting standard Warehouse Management functionality within SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
Operational scope covered Schaeffler warehouse and distribution operations supporting manufacturing and supply chain functions in Germany. Governance and application lifecycle management were retained in-house, with the SAP EWM specialist managing change control, release testing and cutover coordination.
Primary business functions affected were warehouse operations, logistics and supply chain planning, with IT maintaining ongoing configuration and operational support for the SAP EWM installation. Documentation and operational ownership remained with Schaeffler IT, aligned to warehouse process governance and day to day logistics execution.
