In 2014, Sensient Technologies implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as an ERP Financial application to standardize financial operations across its manufacturing locations. The effort was led by a Lead Solutions Architect who worked closely with process owners and key users and provided subject matter expertise on manufacturing and JD Edwards system behavior.
Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was configured to support core financial modules including accounts payable and accounts receivable, and to manage intercompany order commitments between branches in different companies. A new company element was added with multi currency considerations, requiring setup in A/P and A/R and the creation of new processes for fulfilling order commitments between branches. The implementation included development of a custom Unit Management application to address a site specific requirement.
The custom Unit Management application was designed to interface with the Transportation module within Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, creating a functional linkage between unit tracking and transportation execution. Operational coverage focused on manufacturing locations and branch interactions, aligning unit management, shipment orchestration, and financial posting flows.
Governance and rollout were organized around collaboration between the Lead Solutions Architect, process owners, and key users to ensure requirements were captured and mapped to system configuration and custom extensions. Workstreams included business process definition for fulfilling order commitments, A/P and A/R configuration, and controlled deployment of the custom Unit Management integration.
