In 2009 South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) as its Absence and Leave Management application. The engagement included development of the design specification and leadership of selection, procurement and implementation activities, establishing the system as a business critical platform for scheduling, time and attendance, absence management and payroll capabilities. UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager was positioned to support HR and operational workflows across the Trust, providing self service access for staff and managers to interact with absence records and schedules.
The implementation delivered core functional modules and configurations including scheduling, time and attendance, a configured Sickness Absence Module, payroll interfacing capability, Management Information reporting and manager and staff portals with home access. Management Information Reports and portals were developed to surface absence trends and operational schedules, and self service workflows were configured to enable manager approvals and employee absence submissions consistent with absence and leave management processes.
Operational rollout included user documentation, a training needs analysis, and delivery of training and support to Operational Managers and staff to support the bedding in of the system.
