The deployment transitioned payroll operations from Sage MicrOpay to the Affinity Payroll application, establishing Affinity Payroll as the primary payroll system for the organisation. The implementation focused on core payroll modules and HRIS payroll configuration, including employee entitlements, productive time accounting and leave management. The project delivered end to end payroll processing workflows, supporting fortnightly payroll runs for more than 200 staff and monthly processing for 100 plus staff, plus large scale termination payment processing. Project activities included user acceptance testing and procedure documentation, accompanied by live parallel payroll runs between Affinity Payroll and the prior Sage MicrOpay environment to satisfy Single Touch Payroll STP obligations ahead of financial year end. Dual maintenance during the cutover ensured transactional continuity while STP reporting requirements were met. Governance was driven by an internal payroll subject matter expert who translated enterprise agreements, common law contracts, modern awards and National Employment Standards into system configuration. The rollout included documented procedures, UAT, and an operational payroll helpdesk to manage employee queries, with a focus on accurate and timely payments throughout the transition.
