In 2022, St John of God Health Care deployed Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Absence and Leave Management initiative led by KPMG. The engagement ran from February 2022 to September 2023 under an operational and digital transformation remit, with the implementation leader coordinating program delivery across multiple hospital sites in Australia and a workforce base of approximately 16,000 employees.
Workday Absence Management was configured to support core leave workflows including leave request submission, leave accrual calculations, and employer bargaining agreement rules, reflecting the Absence and Leave Management category functional expectations. The project delivered specific configuration for EBA agreement handling and accrual processing in the Workday Leave module, and included design of role-based access and leave approval routing for directors, senior managers and second-in-commands.
The implementation integrated UKG Kronos Dimensions workforce management functionality into the Workday Leave module to align time and attendance data with absence records. A formal integration and functional testing approach was executed in the UAT environment, with more than 480 validation tests completed and architecture defects tracked to closure at a 100 percent resolution rate. The UKG Dimensions deployment ran concurrently across several hospitals and was delivered on time and within budget, with 3,200 staff trained during rollout.
Governance workstreams included a risk management plan for the UKG Dimensions solution and strengthened steering committee communications, which improved stakeholder engagement and decision cycles. Project support focused on process optimization and training delivery performance, with an estimated annualized training efficiency savings of 1.4M AUD explicitly reported by the implementation team.

In 2023, St John of God Health Care implemented RLDatix PolicyStat to create a central My Policy Library that standardised policy documents across its hospitals. The deployment targeted policy lifecycle management within the Insurance Policy Administration category and focused on consolidating institutional policies for the Australia and broader APAC region.
The implementation configured RLDatix PolicyStat capabilities for centralized policy authoring, version control, approval workflows, and role based access control, aligning document taxonomy and reducing duplicate documents across hospital sites. Configuration emphasized a single source of truth for policies, with document templates and naming conventions to enforce consistency and auditability.
Operational coverage spanned multiple hospitals within St John of God Health Care across Australia and APAC, with governance and compliance teams assigned to policy stewardship and editorial workflows. Integrations with other clinical or operational systems were not specified in source materials, so the rollout concentrated on internal policy management capabilities and organisation wide access to the My Policy Library.
