Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2018 2019
In 2018 Sun Basket implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial platform for procurement and inventory-oriented finance workflows. The deployment positioned Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the operational record for purchasing, vendor crediting, forecast-driven buying and warehouse cost controls across the company's procurement team. The system was used daily by procurement staff to procure 100 percent of weekly organic produce demand off a forecast, and to support dump and donate workflows to keep food cost down. Configuration focused on procurement and inventory workflows, including purchase order processing, forecast tracking, vendor credit tracking and inventory control practices such as FIFO enforcement. Microsoft Dynamics NAV was used in coordination with Microsoft Office and Office suite tools to support demand tracking, purchase order generation and administrative work by buyers and admins. The platform was also used to build and run truck manifests and to capture quality control notes tied to purchasing and inventory records. Operational coverage centered on the procurement organization, warehouse operations and buyer administration, with the Regional Procurement Manager acting as liaison to leadership and responsible for vendor relationship management and east coast supplier contract negotiation. Governance practices were formalized around daily forecast reviews, weekly FIFO confirmation in the warehouse and training workflows for new buyers and admins, and the implementation supported USDA interactions and compliance workflows associated with Sun Basket's CCOF and BRC certifications. Microsoft Dynamics NAV served as the core ERP Financial application underpinning these procurement, inventory and governance processes.
