| Deluxe Corp. | Legacy | Deluxe Lockbox (ex Fiserv Lockbox Processing) | AR Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019, Synchrony executed a major outsourcing of its finance receivables operations by contracting Deluxe Corp. to assume retail and wholesale remittance processing and transferring associated employees and operations to Deluxe. The agreement provisioned Deluxe Lockbox (ex Fiserv Lockbox Processing) under the AR Automation category to manage Synchrony’s bill remittance workload in the United States.
The implementation centered on lockbox and remittance processing capabilities, including centralized mail intake and check processing, image capture and remittance data extraction, automated payment posting and cash application workflows, and exception handling for unapplied payments. Deluxe Lockbox (ex Fiserv Lockbox Processing) was configured to support both retail and wholesale remittance streams, aligning functional modules to standard accounts receivable operations and payment posting processes.
Operational coverage was scoped to Synchrony’s U.S. receivables footprint, with the transfer of staff and operational sites to Deluxe creating a unified service delivery model for lockbox activities. The arrangement positioned Deluxe to provide expanded geographic reach for lockbox and remittance services while operating as the outsourced provider of Synchrony’s bill-remittance processing.
Governance was structured as an outsourced service relationship where Deluxe operated Synchrony’s remittance processing, with responsibilities for day-to-day lockbox execution and operational scale. The explicit outcome reported from the engagement was improved operational scale and geographic reach for Deluxe’s Lockbox and remittance services, achieved through the consolidation of Synchrony’s retail and wholesale remittance processing into Deluxe’s AR Automation offering.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Synchrony implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as part of a Business Process Management deployment supporting FP&A and regulatory reporting workloads. The AppWorx Workload Automation installation was used to orchestrate scheduled allocation cycles and batch workloads across Synchrony's Oracle EPBCS environment and adjacent tooling.
Functionally the implementation centralized job scheduling, dependency orchestration, and calendar-driven automation to run allocation models and data loads into the Planning cube used for expense allocation and client profitability analysis. AppWorx coordinated ETL and metadata movement executed via Oracle Data Integrator ODI and FDMEE, and it triggered EPMAutomate tasks, batch scripts, UNIX shell scripts, and SQL PL/SQL jobs to populate Reporting, PACING, and FPA_ADB cubes. The configuration included job chains and parameterized runs to align with planning cycles such as quarterly SRF and operational planning.
Integrations were explicitly with Oracle EPBCS, Oracle Data Integrator ODI, FDMEE, EPMAutomate, GL data feeds, and on-platform batch and shell scripting, enabling wing to wing automation from GL to PLAN, Reporting, and ADB cubes. Operational coverage included FP&A reporting for US Actuals and Plans, CAD Actuals, controllership reporting including variance reporting and the weekly FR2900 regulatory feed, and supported the research and analytics workflows for Average Daily Balance calculations. The implementation served FP&A and the Regulatory Reporting Team and was part of production job orchestration and daily end of day balance processing.
Governance and operational controls were implemented by creating and managing groups and users, assigning provisions, and nesting groups to restrict data load permissions to closed account center and legal entity dimension members. The team performed daily reconciliation of metadata, data, and member properties between on-premise and cloud cubes during go live, and provided documentation, production support, and incident resolution for scheduled processes. Synchrony's AppWorx Workload Automation instance therefore functioned as the central scheduler and operational control plane within the Business Process Management layer.
