Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2013 2014
In 2013, The Hanover Insurance Group implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core finance functions across the company. The initial deployment established PeopleSoft as the authoritative system for accounts payable and general ledger processing and set configuration standards for financial posting and reconciliation workflows. Implementation focused on PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and General Ledger capabilities, with configuration for invoice processing, vendor payment controls, and GL balancing routines. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured to enforce financial controls, chart of accounts mappings, and batch posting sequences consistent with enterprise accounting practices. Operational integration work surfaced in later projects, notably during a Guidewire Billing Center upgrade in 2019 where Hanover teams identified required processing updates in the existing PeopleSoft Account Payable system to integrate with Billing Center version 10. Business testing and defect tracking were managed in an Agile delivery model using Jira and SharePoint, and technical teams researched and resolved items flagged by database consistency checks to preserve GL integrity. Governance was driven by Agile business analysis, producing story cards and detailed business requirements that guided configuration changes and testing acceptance criteria. Hanover coordinated business and programming teams to deliver fixes and to reconcile exceptions uncovered during testing, maintaining PeopleSoft AP and GL workflows as core financial operations.

Duck Creek Technologies Legacy Duck Creek Policy Insurance Policy Administration ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, The Hanover Insurance Group deployed Duck Creek Policy as part of its Insurance Policy Administration environment to support EPLI product configuration and ongoing policy lifecycle work. Development and support were carried out by SQL Developer and Duck Creek Policy developers operating from Worcester, Massachusetts in a hybrid delivery model. Work concentrated on Duck Creek Policy development for EPLI lines and on the underlying data platform and configuration layers. Technical activities included creation and management of database objects such as tables, procedures, triggers, constraints, indexes and views, configuration of policy definitions, and authoring highly complex T-SQL queries and scripts to perform data loads that enforce complex business rules. Performance and operational automation focused on SQL Server level controls, using SQL Server Profiler to surface index performance issues and largely eliminate table scans, and applying normalization and de-normalization to optimize query retrieval. Scheduled packages and operational jobs were orchestrated through SQL Server Agent on weekly and monthly cadences, and data extracts were exported to Excel for data analyst consumption, supporting underwriting and policy administration workflows. Operational coverage included policy administration and data analytics support, plus hands-on support for the Duck Creek shredding process to manage data lifecycle requirements. Governance centered on database object lifecycle management, scheduling and oversight of automated SQL Server Agent jobs, and enforcement of data extraction and shredding procedures to sustain Insurance Policy Administration operations.
