In 2019, The Medical University of South Carolina implemented PageUp ATS, an Applicant Tracking System, deploying the platform on its public careers website to centralize candidate intake and job postings. The deployment targeted university talent acquisition and HR functions, providing a web facing career portal for external applicants and a single point of application submission.
PageUp ATS was configured to support job posting, candidate sourcing, applicant tracking, configurable requisition approval workflows, interview scheduling and applicant screening workflows. The implementation included career site integration so job listings and application forms are hosted through PageUp ATS on the MUSC website, and it leverages Applicant Tracking System capabilities such as candidate status tracking, requisition management and hiring workflow orchestration.
Operational governance emphasized standardized hiring workflows and role based access controls for HR teams and hiring managers across university departments, with recruiting process orchestration managed inside PageUp ATS. Reporting and compliance recordkeeping were included in the platform configuration to support ongoing recruitment operations through MUSC's website.

In 2006, The Medical University of South Carolina implemented Freezerworks Unlimited to support laboratory biobanking for a large longitudinal diabetes study. The deployment used Freezerworks within the Laboratory Management category to provide centralized tracking of patient collections and aliquots across multiple freezers, and as of October 2006 the database housed approximately 160,000 aliquots which reflected the scale of the sample inventory managed.
Freezerworks Unlimited was configured to manage core Laboratory Management workflows including sample inventory, aliquot level tracking and labeling, freezer mapping and location indexing, and audit trail capture for chain of custody. The implementation captured freeze and thaw events and shipment records, enabling comprehensive event history and specimen provenance at the aliquot level.
Operational coverage focused on biobanking and laboratory functions supporting the longitudinal diabetes protocol, with system usage aligned to specimen intake, storage allocation, retrieval requests, and shipment processing. The solution centralized retrieval workflows and inventory queries across distributed freezer assets to improve operational traceability and sample discoverability.
Governance emphasized auditability and process control, the system providing a full audit trail for shipments and freeze and thaw history to support specimen governance and regulatory documentation. The deployment materially improved traceability and retrieval of samples for the program, with Freezerworks Unlimited serving as the Laboratory Management system of record for the study.
