In 2015 Turk Telekom implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the target system for an ERP Financial consolidation and reporting initiative. The implementation analysis covered three operating companies and included a review of existing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instances, the corporate data warehouse, and multiple billing systems to define to be processes for feeding a Central Journal in S/4 HANA.
The technical design centered on SAP S/4 HANA Universal Journal or Central Journal capabilities to unify journal posting and group ledgers, with configuration workstreams for chart of accounts alignment, posting rules, and document consolidation. Functional scope emphasized core financial workflows typical of ERP Financial deployments, including general ledger posting, period close orchestration, and standardized journal entry templates to ensure consistent source-to-journal mappings.
Integrations were scoped to include upstream SAP ERP ECC 6.0 systems, the enterprise data warehouse, and operational billing systems, using a combination of batch ETL feeds and transactional interfaces to populate the Central Journal. The implementation narrative positioned SAP S/4 HANA as the central financial repository, with interfaces designed to normalize transactional data, preserve source auditability, and support consolidated financial reporting across the three companies.
Governance and process redesign focused on defining to be processes to feed the Central Journal, establishing centralized posting policies, and revising reconciliation workflows across finance and accounting teams. Turk Telekom SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial implementation documentation emphasized process ownership, source mapping rules, and cutover sequencing to coordinate data convergence into the Central Journal.
