In 2023, University of Tennessee implemented Oracle Student Cloud as its new Student Information platform to consolidate system-wide student services. The deployment, branded internally as DASH Student, is a statewide initiative covering the University of Tennessee System with five public campuses and two statewide institutes serving nearly 59,000 students, and it explicitly replaces the institution’s prior Banner and CAMS environments with a single cloud-native student record solution.
The Oracle Student Cloud implementation centers on core functional modules for curriculum registry, term and non-term financial aid packaging, multi-year scenario course planning, and real-time student insight and reporting. Oracle Student Cloud is configured to provide self-service academic management for students and administrative workflows for enrollment, advising, and financial aid offices, aligning Student Information capabilities with common higher education operational processes.
Architecturally, the University of Tennessee positioned Oracle Student Cloud to work seamlessly with its existing Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications for finance, human capital management, and supply chain, and to run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This integrated stack is designed to create a unified data model and enable system-wide intelligence from back office finance and HR through to student-facing services, supporting real-time visibility into business processes and consolidated reporting across institutions.
Governance and rollout are being executed as a system-level program with Early Adopter Program collaboration with Oracle, enabling the UT System to influence product direction while coordinating a phased, institution-aware deployment. Administrators expect the University of Tennessee’s Oracle Student Cloud implementation to streamline processes to make it easier for students to access classes, financial aid, and support, and to provide a simplified, holistic view across data sources that enables faster, more accurate decision making to support student success.
