SAP AscenderPay SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll Payroll HCM n/a 2022 2023
In 2022 WA Health contracted SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll as the Payroll component for a state-wide HR management information system known as HMRIS, part of a A$220 million procurement. The contract calls for Deloitte to build and deliver the integrated HR, payroll and rostering solution by June 2025, following a proof of concept and an earlier procurement phase funded with A$8.5 million in the 2021-22 state budget. The implementation positions SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll as the core payroll engine while pairing Time Management by Kronos for workforce time capture and rostering, forming an integrated Payroll and workforce management architecture. Configuration work is focused on employee central master data alignment, payroll processing workflows and time and attendance interfacing consistent with large public sector payroll requirements. A proof of concept trial ran across metropolitan and regional public hospitals including Royal Perth Hospital, Broome Health Campus and Derby Hospital, where SAP and UKG software interoperability was validated. The deployment scope is explicitly state-wide to serve WA Health workforce planning needs and the program is structured as a phased rollout from pilot hospital sites into broader metropolitan and regional sites. Governance and delivery are under a Deloitte-led build, with the HMRIS program intended to centralize HR, payroll and rostering processes that previously relied on multiple applications including AscenderPay, Lattice, ShiftMatch and RoStar. The contractual and delivery timeline through to June 2025 frames program governance, phased testing and staged operational cutovers across health sites.
