The implementation leveraged standard invoice capture and intelligent data extraction, automated matching against purchase orders, and exception routing to finance staff. TechnologyOne Intelligent Invoice Processing was configured to support high levels of PO matching and to minimize manual intervention in the invoice lifecycle, aligning functional workflows with accounts payable processing and procurement controls. Integration work included linking TechnologyOne Intelligent Invoice Processing into the council's TechnologyOne financial stack and a Link4 integration to PEPPOL for e invoicing transmission. These integrations enabled straight through processing from electronic supplier invoices into AP ledger and procurement records, and established an e invoicing channel for supplier onboarding onto PEPPOL. Governance changes centralized invoice approvals and exception handling inside the finance team, shifting operational ownership toward automated matching and exceptions triage. Outcomes reported from the rollout include approximately 1,920 hours saved per year, 85 percent of invoices processed without AP intervention and 95 percent PO matching, demonstrating substantive reductions in manual processing for the accounts payable business function. | |
