FIS Global Legacy FIS Integrated Payables AP Automation ERP n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Wake Forest University implemented FIS Integrated Payables as a cloud-based AP Automation solution to modernize electronic payables and payment processing across the finance organization. The implementation emphasized FIS Integrated Payables functionality for payment orchestration, supplier onboarding, electronic payments and remittance data capture, drawing on prior institutional experience with PayNetExchange, a SaaS electronic payables solution that integrated with the Banner ERP and whose rapid implementation and ROI were discussed at Ellucian Live. Deployment followed a cloud SaaS model, configuring modules consistent with AP Automation capabilities to automate invoice-to-pay workflows, manage supplier networks, and streamline payment approvals. Integration work connected FIS Integrated Payables with the Banner ERP to synchronize vendor master data, invoice and payment ledger entries, and to support automated posting and reconciliation across Accounts Payable, Finance and Procurement operational areas. Governance and rollout incorporated centralized AP workflow controls and process redesign informed by best practices presented at the conference, with explicit emphasis on tracking return on investment. The initiative was framed to reduce operating costs and generate revenue, and the project’s return on investment was a focal point of the implementation case as described in the supporting materials.

Workday Legacy Workday Student Student Information ERP Services and Operations n/a 2024 2024
In 2024, Wake Forest University implemented Workday Student. Workday Student is a Student Information application deployed to centralize student services and administrative workflows across the university. The implementation configured core academic and student-facing modules including course registration, degree progress tracking, financial aid management, grades viewing, advising appointment scheduling, and mobile self-service functionality. Workday Illuminate AI features were enabled to provide prompt recommendations, validate data entry, and flag outliers for administrators, aligning with the product capability to help administrators work faster and more efficiently. Workday Student was integrated with Workday Financial Management, Workday Human Capital Management, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Workday Grants Management to unify finance, HR, planning, and academic data for real-time insights across registration, curriculum, staffing, and supplier costs. Operational coverage focused on academic affairs, registrar, financial aid, and student services teams, supporting staff workflows for enrollment, curriculum management, and student lifecycle administration. The go-live was part of a 2024 cohort in which 28 higher education institutions deployed Workday Student, and Wake Forest positioned the platform to simplify enrollment and administrative processes for more than 9,000 students and nearly 7,400 faculty and staff. The university emphasized a single system approach so students can register for courses, track degree progress, manage financial aid, and view grades in one place.
