American International Group (AIG) Insurance 25000 $47.3B United States AlertEnterprise AlertEnterprise Enterprise Guardian Identity and Access Management (IAM) 2019 n/a
In 2019 American International Group, AIG implemented AlertEnterprise Enterprise Guardian to unify badge and building access under a single Access Management platform as part of an enterprise-wide physical security transformation. The program consolidated global access operations that had scaled from 84 corporate standard access control locations in the United States in 2011 to more than 185 locations in 34 countries by 2018, and it ultimately secured more than 100,000 cardholders across 190 corporate locations in 135 cities worldwide. AlertEnterprise Enterprise Guardian was configured to deliver convergence between identity sources and physical access controls, implementing situational intelligence capabilities to identify potential security risks in near real time. Functional modules included badge lifecycle automation, access recertification workflows, activity reporting and dashboards, and situational event correlation to support investigation and response. The deployment automated badging and provisioning by orchestrating onboarding, secure offboarding, and termination workflows. Integrations were implemented with AIG HR and affiliated company directory systems to ensure smooth identity provisioning and deprovisioning, and with the corporate physical access control system PACS to automate badge issuance and enforce building access policies. Operational coverage centered on AIG’s Global Physical Security and Administration organization and extended across security, facilities, HR identity workflows, and real estate planning functions that consume access and space utilization data. Governance was aligned to corporate policies and standards, establishing auditable process flows for access approvals and recertification and providing autonomy to local customers while maintaining centralized policy enforcement. By using the AlertEnterprise Enterprise Guardian reporting and dashboards, AIG enabled quicker auditable analysis of facility utilization, badge activity, and access recertification, and the platform produced space utilization insights that contributed to significant real estate savings and strengthened security processes.
