Barry Callebaut | Manufacturing | 13672 | $9.0B | Switzerland | Alpega Group | Alpega TMS | Transportation Management | 2017 | n/a |
In 2017 Barry Callebaut implemented Alpega TMS as its Transportation Management platform to centralize planning and execution for its manufacturing distribution flows. The deployment positioned Alpega TMS as the primary Transportation Management system used by logistics and supply chain teams to coordinate outbound shipments and carrier operations.
Configuration focused on industry-standard Transportation Management capabilities, including load planning and optimization, carrier tendering and procurement workflows, transport execution and tracking, and settlement-ready freight documentation. Alpega TMS was configured to support role-based operational screens for planners and transport coordinators, and to automate tendering and shipment status updates in line with manufacturing shipping cadences.
The implementation includes an operational integration with WeTrack, Barry Callebaut relies on WeTrack to monitor key fleet metrics and feed visibility data into the Alpega TMS execution layer. Operational telemetry from WeTrack is used to consolidate vehicle and trip-level status within Alpega TMS, enabling centralized shipment visibility and exception handling across transport operations.
Governance work established centralized transportation processes, standardized carrier performance tracking, and workflow handoffs between planning, carrier management, and distribution site operations. The Alpega TMS deployment emphasized consistent data capture for transport events and metric reporting, aligning Transportation Management with Barry Callebaut business functions for logistics and distribution.

Cristalco | Manufacturing | 250 | $120M | France | Alpega Group | Alpega TMS | Transportation Management | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020, Cristalco implemented Alpega TMS. The Alpega TMS deployment provided Transportation Management capabilities to support the companys manufacturing logistics across France and Switzerland, with operational coordination anchored in Cristalcos Paris customer service and order handling functions.
Alpega TMS was configured to support order processing, carrier chartering and shipment organization, updating of the shipping schedule, shipment monitoring, invoicing, and dispute and customer complaint processing. Functional modules explicitly used included shipping schedule management tied to Transwide workflow updates, carrier orchestration for charters and linehaul, and financial touch points for invoice capture and dispute handling. The narrative reflects direct operational responsibilities performed by Cristalco staff in customer service and assistance roles at the Paris site.
The implementation integrated Alpega TMS with SAP for customer order processing and with Transwide for scheduling updates, creating a connected flow between order entry, transport orchestration, and billing operations. Governance centered on formalizing shipment scheduling, monitoring and invoice dispute workflows within customer service and freight operations, and on operationalizing Transwide schedule updates as the authoritative transport timetable. The configuration emphasized structured operational coverage for customer service, transport operations and billing without asserting specific outcome metrics.

Lear Corporation | Automotive | 186600 | $23.5B | United States | Alpega Group | Alpega TMS | Transportation Management | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015 Lear Corporation implemented Alpega TMS as its core Transportation Management application to consolidate inbound transportation for 54 plants across Europe and Africa into a single One Lear Transportation Network. The deployment centralized transportation planning and execution under a new central transportation function and established a hub network of five and subsequently six main hubs to enable consolidation of small supplier shipments and coordinated full truckload dispatch.
Alpega TMS was configured to support strategic transportation network planning, operational execution, consolidation and milk run planning, FTL dispatching, item level track and trace and freight invoicing workflows. The implementation covered capabilities from strategic planning through freight invoice auditing and included standardized process templates and master data controls to enable per item cost visibility and synchronized warehouse and transportation planning.
The architecture followed a hub and spoke operational model with integration of more than 1,100 supplier locations, 60 plant unloading points and roughly 35 carriers into the platform, supporting over 3,000 active users across plants, suppliers and carriers. Connectivity and operational coordination were extended to suppliers and carriers to enable scheduled call off consolidation at suppliers, pick up to hubs and onward routing, reflecting an integrated Transportation Management approach.
Governance was updated to a centralized transportation organization with standardized processes across all plants, rollouts to supplier and carrier networks, and ongoing master data improvement. 4flow and inet logistics were engaged in network design, process standardization and rollout support, while transport management responsibilities were shifted from individual plants to the centralized team to streamline negotiations and execution.
As stated by Lear, the configuration of Alpega TMS and the new centralized processes delivered greater transportation transparency with item-by-item track and trace, allowed monitoring of costs on a per-item basis, reduced decentralized resource requirements and supported stronger freight rate negotiations, enabling continuous transportation optimization.

The Sherwin-Williams Company | Manufacturing | 64088 | $23.1B | United States | Alpega Group | Alpega TMS | Transportation Management | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, The Sherwin-Williams Company implemented Alpega TMS to centralize Transportation Management and formalize carrier tendering workflows. The deployment was targeted at transportation, procurement, and logistics functions within the manufacturing organization to establish consistent sourcing and rate negotiation processes.
The implementation leveraged Alpega TMS TenderEasy tendering capabilities to automate solicitation of carrier bids, standardize bid responses, and enable comparative rate analysis. Configuration work emphasized tender orchestration, carrier selection rules, and automated award logic, aligning Alpega TMS functionality with Transportation Management operational workflows.
Operational use was concentrated in Sherwin-Williams transportation and procurement teams for running recurrent carrier tenders and enforcing consistent commercial terms. The solution supported workflow orchestration for bid issuance, evaluation, and award, bringing repeatability and process controls to Transportation Management activities.
Governance and process changes focused on standardizing the tender lifecycle and tightening carrier rate governance, with TenderEasy helping Sherwin-Williams save time, improve processes and ensure competitive market rates from carriers. The deployment therefore centered on operationalizing Transportation Management controls and tender governance rather than on customer facing logistics features.
