KCOM | Professional Services | 30 | $4M | United Kingdom | Cisco Systems | Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution | Collaboration | 2012 | VOSS Solutions |
In 2012 KCOM implemented Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution in the Collaboration category, establishing itself as the first Cisco HCS Contact Center customer in Europe that year. VOSS Solutions partnered with KCOM to provide the UC management component for KCOM’s cloud communications platform, and VOSS-4-UC has been embedded as the management layer since the initial deployment.
The implementation centered on a unified management architecture for unified communications and contact center operations, delivered via a single administration portal. VOSS-4-UC provided single domain management capabilities that consolidated front and back office administration, enabled customer self-service for routine changes, and reduced reliance on disparate management applications and spreadsheets.
A northbound integration module was implemented to link the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution and the contact center environment into KCOM’s billing and CRM processes, so that subscribers, agents and services provisioned through the management portal could be accurately reflected in downstream systems. The deployment ran on KCOM’s hosted cloud communications platform and supported operational functions for customer service agents and subscriber provisioning workflows.
Governance and operational controls were refocused around the centralized administration portal, shifting provisioning and routine configuration into the managed platform and empowering customer self-service. KCOM and VOSS positioned the configuration to improve customer experience, increase administrative accuracy, and accelerate service changes while maintaining enterprise grade service management.

Virgin Media O2 UK | Communications | 16000 | $10.7B | United Kingdom | Cisco Systems | Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution | Collaboration | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019 Virgin Media O2 UK deployed Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution to deliver Collaboration services across its business. The Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution implementation centralized cloud-based unified communications capabilities while preserving hybrid service boundaries through Cisco WebEx Hybrid Services and Expressway components.
The deployment architecture combined Cisco HCS and CUCM for call control, IM&P for presence, UCCX and Cisco WebEx Contact Centre for contact center functionality, CUBE for session border control, and Mobile Remote Access to support remote users. Infrastructure design used Windows Server OS and VMware vSphere virtualized hosts, with network security and traffic management provided by Cisco ASA Firewall, Nexus switches, and F5 AFM, and VOSS-4-UC plus VOSS Analytics for administration and reporting.
Integration work included SIP trunking using vendor SBCs such as AudioCodes, Ribbon, Cisco CUBE and Microsoft Direct Routing to interconnect PSTN and cloud voice services. The implementation also encompassed Cisco Smart Licensing rollout and hosted UC platform upgrades to manage entitlements and software lifecycle within the Collaboration estate.
Operational scope focused on B2B product and service delivery, unified communications and contact center operations, and mobile remote access across the organization. Governance activities in the program included platform audit, risk management, enforcement of security policy compliance, identification of vulnerabilities, and remediation workflows to reduce cybersecurity exposure.
