CyberAgent | Media | 8150 | $5.7B | Japan | Dell EMC | Dell Emc PowerScale | Cloud Storage | 2021 | BroadBand Tower |
In 2021, CyberAgent deployed Dell Emc PowerScale to support CyberAgent Group’s CyberHuman Productions 3DCG/AR/VR content production in Japan, using the product as a core Cloud Storage platform for large media assets. The Dell Emc PowerScale implementation is positioned to handle high throughput file I O and scale out capacity for creative and rendering pipelines within the media business.
The deployment used Dell Emc PowerScale scale out NAS architecture and standard Cloud Storage functional capabilities, providing high throughput file storage and metadata performance for large 3DCG assets. The implementation doubled usable storage capacity and improved storage performance by about 30 to 40 percent, and the solution entered production at the end of February 2021. The environment was configured to serve content production workflows and render farms associated with CyberHuman Productions.
BroadBand Tower provided the evaluation unit and continues to deliver ongoing maintenance and self run support for the estate, supporting operational governance and production readiness. CyberAgent Dell Emc PowerScale Cloud Storage supports 3DCG and AR VR production business functions, with the rollout focused on media asset ingestion, active project storage, and high throughput delivery to creative and rendering teams.

Hakuhodo Product'S Japan | Media | 2223 | $650M | Japan | Dell EMC | Dell Emc PowerScale | Cloud Storage | 2021 | Techmatrix |
In 2021 Hakuhodo Product'S Japan deployed Dell Emc PowerScale in the Cloud Storage category to consolidate file storage and accelerate creative and media production workflows across its Japan operations. The initiative consolidated 12 separate file servers into a single Dell EMC PowerScale Isilon cluster and the hybrid PowerScale Isilon H500/A200 configuration went into production in June 2021.
The implementation used a scale out NAS architecture inherent to Dell Emc PowerScale, configuring a unified cluster to present a single namespace for large media assets. The hybrid H500 and A200 nodes were combined to balance performance and capacity requirements for high bandwidth media ingest, rendering, and large file transfers.
Techmatrix served as the system integrator and delivered implementation services and post go live support for the deployment. Operational coverage focused on creative and media production departments in Japan, centralizing previously dispersed storage to simplify access and administration for production teams.
Centralization restructured workflow for storage access and cost allocation, enabling faster cross-departmental troubleshooting and chargeback analysis. Consolidated metadata and a unified namespace improved visibility for cost-allocation investigations and routine administrative tasks.
Explicit outcomes reported from the deployment include large data transfer times reduced to roughly one seventh of prior durations and department cost-allocation investigations shortened from about three days to approximately five minutes. Dell Emc PowerScale in the Cloud Storage category became the primary on-premises file storage platform for media workflows at Hakuhodo Product'S Japan following the June 2021 production cutover.
