Zanders Sporting Goods | Retail | 50 | $5M | United States | Netcellent System | Elliot Business | ERP Financial | 2011 | n/a |
In 2011, Zanders Sporting Goods implemented Elliot Business as its ERP Financial application. The engagement started with a May 2010 project intake and expanded into two additional projects, after which leadership retained the implementation lead to assist with redevelopment of the IT department and ongoing systems projects. Implementation scope prioritized aligning human capital to internal needs and centralizing financial and fulfillment processes for the 50-employee retail operation.
Elliot Business was configured to support core financial management, order-to-cash workflows, inventory ledger and fulfillment orchestration to address stated goals of improving fulfillment and reducing order latency. Configuration work included mapping transactional flows between online sales channels, warehouse operations and financial posting, and designing automation around pick, pack and settlement processes consistent with an ERP Financial deployment. The implementation reflected retailer priorities to enhance online markets and to begin virtualizing parts of the workforce.
The project team designed and managed integrations between Elliot Business, Accellos WMS and the Fastpick Carousel pick to light system, establishing process-level handoffs for order release, bin allocation and pick confirmation. A plan for complete network re-engineering was developed to support these integrations and to underpin a new eCommerce and social network campaign and phased virtual workforce architecture. Operational coverage focused on fulfillment, eCommerce, warehouse operations and IT infrastructure within the company.
Governance and process restructuring included putting new contract parameters in place, developing internal procedures to ensure IT contracts are closely monitored and aligning organizational roles to support the target virtual workforce. The implementation lead executed numerous changes to Zanders IT infrastructure while working on new management and organizational plans, reflecting an ongoing effort to achieve a current, modern IT system and to reduce wasteful IT spending through tighter contract governance.
