In 2015 Ecowater Systems, a Marmon Water company, deployed Epicor Quick Ship as part of an Epicor Kinetic cloud rollout to accelerate shipping operations. Epicor Kinetic was hosted initially by Epicor Managed Services and the program went live at three Marmon Water companies including one in Poland and two in North America, with additional sites in India and the U.S. in process and 12 more locations in Singapore, China, Europe, and the U.S. slated for implementation by the end of 2026. The environment supports roughly 200 users across the Marmon Water instances, and EcoWater North America operates with a concurrent license model of 70 licenses to support a larger user base.
Epicor Quick Ship was implemented as the Shipping Management component within Epicor Kinetic, with shipping, receiving, and invoicing configured to be operational on day one for each go live. The implementation emphasized out of the box shipping workflows and document selection automation so staff can click international shipping, select required documents, and print, reducing paperwork time significantly. The team migrated to the web version of Epicor Kinetic and began decommissioning the client version to capitalize on lower latency and faster report generation through browser access.
The Epicor Quick Ship deployment was integrated with Epicor EDI and Epicor Advanced MES to support high volume EDI revenue flows and warehouse operational controls. Integration with Epicor EDI is significant, given that 80 to 90 percent of EcoWater revenue transacts via EDI, and Epicor Advanced MES was used for cycle counting and shop floor coordination. Dashboards and reports exposed in Epicor Kinetic, supplemented by the Grow BI acquisition, were used to surface Open Orders, Inventory Levels and Turns, Shipment Backlog, Orders not Invoiced, Open RMAs, and sales reports for production, quality, inventory, and finance stakeholders.
Governance and rollout followed a centralized, repeatable program led by Marmon Water IT with Epicor Professional Services providing the majority of site configuration and training. The group level defined a methodical implementation practice using five conference room pilots and a month end mock go live before cutover, enabling consistent, on time, on budget deployments. The cloud architecture and move toward Microsoft Azure public cloud were positioned to deliver seamless upgrades and real time instance updates, and the combination of vendor services and internal IT governance supported the expansion of Epicor Quick Ship as the Shipping Management solution across Marmon Water sites.
