In 2013 Southern Independent Bank implemented Fiserv Popmoney as part of a broader deployment of the Fiserv Premier bank platform in an outsourced environment. The Fiserv Popmoney deployment added person to person payment capability within the Payment Processing category and was coordinated alongside core account processing and digital channel initiatives.
Implementation scope encompassed core account processing, lending workflow automation and a suite of customer facing digital products. Southern Independent Bank configured the loan application within the Premier bank platform to process and manage commercial and retail loans and integrated EasyLender for loan origination. Customer facing modules included enhanced bill payment, CheckFree RXP bill presentment, online banking via Retail Online, electronic statements, TransferNow online funds transfer, and personalized debit card programs managed through Card Services Debit Processing and MyCardCreation.
Systems integrations were explicit and included Accel payments network for card routing, Branch Source Capture for check capture, and the Fiserv Clearing Network for image exchange, enabling back office clearing and settlement. Business Analytics provided enterprise wide reporting functionality while Integrated Teller delivered real time customer and account information to front line operations. This architecture supported operational coverage across retail and commercial lending, branch operations, digital channels and card services.
Governance and process changes were enabled by Business Process Manager for new account and process management and Director for electronic content management, which centralized workflow orchestration and document retention. Virtual Trainer was provisioned for web based staff training to accelerate operational adoption of Premier and associated modules. The bank publicly cited enhanced capabilities in loan processing, reporting functions and digital offerings, and positioned the combined deployment including Fiserv Popmoney to support continued organizational growth.

U.S. Bank | Banking and Financial Services | 70000 | $27.3B | United States | Fiserv | Fiserv Popmoney | Payment Processing | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, U.S. Bank deployed Fiserv Popmoney to deliver real time person to person payments through its online and mobile banking channels. The deployment used Fiserv Popmoney in the Payment Processing category and added the Popmoney Instant Payments feature along with money request and personalized digital greeting card capabilities.
The implementation enabled the Instant Payment option using the Real Time Payment Service add on module for the PEP+ solution from Fiserv, which facilitates instant payments via a direct connection to the bank's core processing platform or DDA accounts. Fiserv Popmoney was configured to operate alongside PEP+ ACH origination and receipt functionality, and the Popmoney personal payment service was integrated into U.S. Bank online and mobile banking workflows and Mobiliti mobile banking service.
The deployment leveraged Fiserv network connections including the Accel payments network and links to non Fiserv networks to enable sending to participating financial institutions. Popmoney allowed customers to send and receive funds to U.S. based bank accounts using a recipient name and account number, email address, or mobile phone number, establishing U.S. Bank as the first large bank to offer real time P2P payments online and via mobile using Popmoney Instant Payments.
Governance and operational coverage focused on consumer digital banking channels and underlying money movement operations, with PEP+ used to automate ACH flows and the Real Time Payment Service add on used to orchestrate instant credit delivery. The implementation positioned Fiserv Popmoney within a multi network payment architecture available to eligible customers and participating institutions.
