Suncorp Group Banking and Financial Services 10500 $7.9B Australia Tungsten Automation Kofax Mortgage Agility Intelligent Document Processing 2013 n/a
In 2013 Suncorp Group deployed Kofax Mortgage Agility to automate mortgage application processing. The Kofax Mortgage Agility implementation targeted one of the most complex business processes at Suncorp and served as the companys first Intelligent Document Processing initiative, chosen to establish a high standard for subsequent automation efforts. The implementation established a centralized capture platform that employs a full suite of Kofax products, including Kofax Capture, Kofax Transformation Modules, Kofax VRS Elite, Kofax Monitor, Kofax Front Office Server and Kofax Import Connector. Functional capabilities implemented included document capture and classification, image enhancement and recognition, transformation and validation of extracted data, monitoring and operational dashboards, and front office document access to support end to end mortgage workflows. The program moved to a paperless mortgage application intake process in about four months and the full solution was deployed in less than 12 months. Operational rollout extended beyond mortgage processing, with Kofax products deployed or in the process of deployment across banking, life insurance, personal insurance and commercial insurance business units, together with shared services such as HR, accounts payable and procurement contracts. Governance for the program focused on standardizing capture and validation workflows to enable reuse across business functions and to accelerate subsequent Intelligent Document Processing projects. Suncorp set an explicit automation target of 80 percent for the mortgage process and reported being well on its way to that objective. Mortgage processing served as the reference implementation that informed additional Kofax deployments across the enterprise, while the capture platform architecture provided a common foundation for broader document centric automation initiatives.
Waterstone Mortgage Banking and Financial Services 800 $170M United States Tungsten Automation Kofax Mortgage Agility Intelligent Document Processing 2013 n/a
In 2013, Waterstone Mortgage implemented Kofax Mortgage Agility as an Intelligent Document Processing application to standardize mortgage document intake and workflow orchestration. The engagement was led internally by a Project Manager and Business Analyst who worked alongside a software developer to set expectations and implement change that would enhance the buildout of the firm’s lighthouse solution. Kofax Mortgage Agility was configured to deliver core Intelligent Document Processing capabilities including document capture, optical character recognition, extraction and classification of mortgage documents, and automated routing into mortgage processing workflows. Configuration work emphasized mapping document types, building extraction templates and business rules, and instrumenting automated handoff points to downstream operations, aligning with standard IDP functional workflows for loan document ingestion and data normalization. The Project Manager/BA role for Kofax Mortgage Agility ran concurrently with responsibility for HubSpot CRM, the corporate Vantage CRM rollout to branches, and a Velocify lead management deployment, which created coordinated expectations for document capture and lead routing across marketing, recruiting, and branch operations. Agile methodology was applied to planning and phased rollout, and internal governance focused on stakeholder expectation setting and change management within Waterstone Mortgage’s US operations.
