In 2016, Briscoe Group implemented Magenta POS. The Magenta POS deployment was instituted as the enterprise retail platform under the Point Of Sale category and was rolled out to Briscoe Group stores and corporate offices across New Zealand.
The implementation focused on core point of sale capabilities typical for the category, including transaction processing, inventory control, pricing and promotions, receipt printing, offline transaction queuing, and back office reporting and synchronization for sales and stock. Magenta POS was operated on a mixed Windows environment with both physical and virtual Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2016 hosts, and Windows 7 and Windows 10 client devices, with backup processes to safeguard system data.
Operational integrations and support were aligned with existing enterprise systems and infrastructure explicitly referenced by Briscoe Group operations. The Magenta POS environment interfaced with SAP for financial and inventory reconciliation, leveraged Windows Active Directory for user authentication, and coexisted with Microsoft Exchange for communications. Day to day governance and support responsibilities included remote and on site technical support across New Zealand stores and offices, coordination with third party vendors to complete service requests and projects, administration of the Unify phone system, and oversight of backups and server maintenance.

Lombard The Paper People | Manufacturing | 120 | $18M | Australia | Magenta Retail | Magenta POS | Point Of Sale | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Lombard The Paper People implemented Magenta POS as part of a broader Point Of Sale and ERP modernization across its national operations. The deployment aligned store transaction processing with SAP Business One and HighJump Warehouse Management System to reduce paper processes and centralize inventory and sales visibility.
The Magenta POS implementation targeted core Point Of Sale capabilities, including transaction processing, integrated pricing and receipt generation, and store-level inventory enquiry, configured to synchronize product and customer master data with the ERP. Configuration work included POS terminal provisioning, role-based access for retail staff, and scheduled synchronization to maintain consistent item masters and price lists across outlets.
Cloud Factory led the SAP Business One and HighJump implementations and worked closely with the Magenta Retail team to ensure tight integration of Magenta POS, linking point of sale transactions to ERP financial posting and warehouse allocation workflows. The integration design routed POS sales capture into SAP Business One for order and financial recording, while inventory updates and replenishment signals were coordinated with HighJump to maintain centralized stock accuracy.
The rollout was executed concurrently with the ERP and warehouse projects and was delivered on time and within budget, covering retail stores, warehouse operations and finance functions. The integrated Magenta POS, SAP Business One and HighJump stack eliminated paper-based processes and provided Lombard The Paper People with centralized transaction processing and improved operational visibility.
