Oakdale Meat Co. Consumer Packaged Goods 100 $30M Australia The RIC Group RIC Group WMS Warehouse Management 2020 n/a
In 2020, Oakdale Meat Co. implemented RIC Group WMS, a Warehouse Management application to provide a platform for growth and establish an integrated inventory backbone with SAP Business One. The deployment was scoped to support meat distribution operations and to replace a prior industry specific Sastek WMS, addressing complex perishable goods requirements and future scalability for the Australian-based business. The implementation used the certified RIC Group WMS for SAP Business One and leveraged configurable User Defined Fields to capture meat industry specific attributes, enabling tailored inventory classification and compliance data capture. Functional capabilities implemented included prioritized perishable-first picking workflows, batch and lot-aware inventory handling, and inventory usage tracking to improve stock balancing and dispatch accuracy. Integration work centered on a certified connector to SAP Business One, providing transactional synchronization for inbound receipting, stock movements, and outbound fulfillment to maintain a single source of truth for inventory. Operational coverage included warehouse and distribution floor processes, order picking and packing, and inventory control functions, aligning warehouse execution with business ERP order and procurement flows. Governance and process change introduced UDF-driven validation rules and revised picking workflows to ensure perishable inventory is picked first, with The RIC Group providing ongoing support for continuous improvement and new requirement requests. Reported benefits from the engagement include reduced operating expenses, better balanced inventory, increased transparency and visibility into inventory usage, and assurance that perishable items are prioritized in picking.
Oceanic Food Distribution 50 $7M Australia The RIC Group RIC Group WMS Warehouse Management 2020 n/a
In 2020 Oceanic Food implemented RIC Group WMS and went live on 21/12/2020, deploying the RIC Group WMS as its primary Warehouse Management solution for a new purpose built warehouse and cold store. The initiative supports Oceanic Food’s distribution of frozen seafood across the Le Ocean, Oceanic, Le Patron, Tacoma and Carpentaria brands and focuses on warehouse and cold chain operational control within a nine high double deep pallet racking environment. The implementation delivered core Warehouse Management workflows, including RF directed receiving, putaway and label printing, with inventory control and task orchestration aligned to cold storage handling. The browser based Supply Chain Solution design enabled the rollout of DT Urovo 50 and Honeywell CK 65 Cold Storage RF devices to execute the receiving, putaway and label processes, with a planned next phase to introduce picking and delivery workflows. The RIC Group WMS was integrated with SAP Business One to exchange transactional and master data between warehouse operations and back office finance and inventory records. The architecture emphasized a browser centric, device enabled stack to support real time RF transactions in cold store conditions while maintaining data synchronization with SAP Business One. Project delivery, software deployment and staff training were completed under COVID-19 constraints using The RIC Group’s adapted COVID-19 project methodology, combining remote assistance with on site activities where required. Oceanic Food reported continuous daily use since Go Live, and the WMS has been credited with reducing travel time and touches on warehouse processes which has helped reduce operational costs, while the organisation moves into the picking and delivery phase of the rollout.
