1st Phorm | Consumer Packaged Goods | 500 | $175M | United States | Stamps.com | ShipWorks | Shipping Management | 2021 | n/a |
In 2021, 1st Phorm implemented ShipWorks as its Shipping Management solution to address rapid ecommerce growth and meet same day shipping commitments. ShipWorks was deployed as a desktop on premise application to enable local troubleshooting and sustain high throughput label printing.
The implementation configured automated order import and processing workflows, batch label printing, and consolidated multi carrier shipping within the ShipWorks application. Functional capabilities operationalized included fast order staging from storefronts, streamlined carrier selection for heavier versus lighter shipments, and rapid label generation to satisfy tight shipping cutoffs.
ShipWorks integrated directly with 1st Phorm’s Shopify and Magento storefronts to import orders within seconds, and the solution was used with multiple carriers including USPS and UPS to route orders based on parcel size and service level. Operational coverage focused on the Springfield, Missouri warehouse team and fulfillment operations, supporting same day shipment for orders placed before a 2 pm cutoff and handling volumes up to 80,000 orders per month.
Governance and workflow changes emphasized speeding label output and centralizing fulfillment tasks so warehouse staff could reliably meet the company’s same day shipping SLA and scale for a projected 50 percent order volume increase over five months. Outcomes reported include the ability to process upward of 80,000 orders per month, reduced reliance on external support because of on site troubleshooting, and savings of up to 66 percent on UPS 2nd Day Air rates.

Blue Sky Scrubs | Consumer Packaged Goods | 50 | $10M | United States | Stamps.com | ShipWorks | Shipping Management | 2021 | n/a |
In 2021, Blue Sky Scrubs implemented ShipWorks as its Shipping Management platform to automate and centralize e-commerce shipping operations. Prior to this implementation, the company relied on carriers’ web platforms that were optimized for individual orders, which made daily label generation and shipment configuration labor intensive. The deployment focused on the operations team responsible for daily fulfillment and label printing.
The ShipWorks implementation centered on address validation, automation rules, batch printing, rate shopping, and international shipping support, leveraging standard Shipping Management capabilities to reduce manual touch points. Address validation was configured to check addresses against the USPS database to eliminate manual verification for each order. Automation rules were used to apply shipping service, package type, and to trigger order related actions such as notifications.
ShipWorks was integrated with Blue Sky Scrubs' order system so customer name, address, purchased items, and paid shipping service flow automatically into shipping workflows. This integration enabled filtering and grouping of orders, for example grouping international orders for consolidated document generation and customs form handling. Rate shopping across carriers was used at the point of label creation to present cheapest and fastest options without switching websites.
The operational workflow was restructured around batch processing, where automation and address validation feed into a batch printing process to produce a day’s labels in one action. Implementation included configuration of event driven automations so different order events apply predefined shipping configurations, reducing per order decision making during fulfillment. Oversight remained with the operations manager to validate rules and manage exception handling.
As a result of the ShipWorks Shipping Management deployment Blue Sky Scrubs reduced the time to print a day’s labels from multiple hours to around 10 to 15 minutes. The company reported approximately ten thousand dollars in annual savings on international shipping by surfacing carrier and service options for cost and speed comparisons. The implementation improved visibility into carrier choices and centralized shipping operations for the fulfillment team.
